Do you mean the 2x stripes down the middle of the car like the vipers? Pick the first patten option and pick any stripe and then select body, bonnet, roof
Then select body rear to put on the back
Front to put on the front grill, line them all up to make a giant stripe all the way down

Pick body - Roof view
Select basic shape - The long rectangle that runs parallel with the sides of the car
Edit - Hold L1 and stretch it down the length of the car (makes it easier to line up as it should end up at-least partially reaching the bumpers at each end of the car)
Pick bonnet - bonnet view
Select basic shape - Usually a rectangle facing perpendicular to what you chose first time, (Depending on the car you can line it up with the scuttle and the front bumper)
Rinse and repeat for whatever design of go faster stripes you want.
Obviously at all personal preference just practice and its easy
