Hey guys,

any ideas how to get rid of the deadzone in the brake pedal of the T500rs? For the first maybe 1" of travel, you get nothing. really hard to trail brake effectively without this initial feel. I have the latest firmware on the wheel also.

Anyone got this also? Anyone fixed it?

Thanks

The easiest solution: Mash the brake pedal to the floor before you start any racing session. Until it's been pushed as far as you can physically push it, it's not calibrated properly.

If you're talking about an additional issue, I'm not really sure what the issue is. I've seen some people mention even the gas pedal needs a lot of play in Assetto Corsa, which I find bizarre because I can manipulate RPMs with the slightest touch of the gas.

The Thrustmaster Technical Support site has instructions for how to re-calibrate your pedals -- I suggest trying that (I think there's a utility that you have to download to do the recalibration as well, check the TM Tech Support page).

Try this link:

Link: http://ts.thrustmaster.com/download/accessories/Manuals/T500RS/T500RS_Pedal_calibration.pdf

If that doesn't help, contact TM Tech Support -- it sounds like there might be something mechanically wrong with the pedals if you have 1" of deadzone.

Thanks John!

Big fan of your work!

It's not horrible, and maybe 1" is an over exaggeration, but it is there. It's just stopping me be able to trail brake that tiny little bit needed, or that little dab of the brake to get the nose tucked back in to the apex. Just annoying that"s all.

@ joshmuggo, out of curiosity, what physical config are you running the pedals in?
Stock, with thrustmaster brake mod, basher brake mod?

Absolutely stock, no mods at all. My brother had them for iRacing and was using the TM stiff brake mod, but i took it out when i got them back for GT.

Going to the BasherBrake mod may tighten things up for you.
Made all the difference in the world for me, I run pedals in GT config.

hmmm ok cool, thanks mate, i'll give that a go.

Was your GT reference to the game or T500 pedal configuration option?

If it refers to GT the game, I highly recommend Paul33993's calibration tip.
I mash the pedal all the way down 1st thing, on 1st run to fill up the brake bars...
...and then restart the event. I do it every time I start up GT5/GT6.

And make sure your are doing as the PDF recommends in the link JohnBodin provided.

And to add, the basherbrakemod is light years better than the TM brake mod.
I am not alone in that observation, here is the thread for the basherbrake mod.
