How to drive with only ABS?

I tried a bunch of cool cars but when i remove the driver assists (except ABS) it just goes out spinning out all the time when i get out of a corner.

Should i add some weight in the front and increase understeer? Because i'd love to get my skills increasing again since i've pretty much reached my current max. (The assisted max, that is)💡

With the assists i drive pretty good,i've beat some of my friends a few times:sly: (They sadly don't play GT5 anymore,me still being a big lover of the series:guilty:) but without the assists i'm a disaster.:scared:

If anyone could send me a few tips here on how to not goof up like i always do i'd be very thankful.👍

Cheers!!

(Here's just hoping you guys're nicer than the Gamefaqs guys who just keep spitting on me and telling me i'm a nOOb when i played GT since the first one. Not doubting, just scared.)

Start with a slow car, like a miata, on comfort mediums .. and practice, practice and practice .. once you've mastered it, use a faster car and so on..

Also, don't floor it when you're exiting the corner, let the gas be a counter-equivalent to the steering (sorry, don't know how to word it) So when the steering is straight, you're already going full gas.

I know someone will come and say it better than me, so take this with a grain of salt.

For me, i'll always start by buying or tuning the LSD since is always the culprit of me losing control on cornering. Try reading the guide by Motor City Hemi about LSD tuning. It helps a lot.

Good points in this thread. Sounds like you need practice on corner exit and vehicle balance. Also having to really get to know the tracks without the nannies on.

Don't get discouraged it's tough to get out of your comfort zone with assists. I know it's probably difficult to use a stock vehicle on Comfort tires. In the long run it's a great way to learn driving dynamics without having to rely on another crutch of having to tune every car just to keep it on track.

I know it doesn't sound very exciting but a stock 89 Premium Miata/Comfort hards or mediums at Tsukuba is a good learning environment.

The best thing you can do is to find a car that has already been tuned to drive using only ABS. Something with Sport Soft tyres, so there's enough grip to be forgiving. Something reasonably low power and possibly 4WD, just to give you a little more help. Spend a few days driving the same car around, until you're able to drive it confidently. Once you've cracked one car, you'll likely find others much easier to drive.

I'm sure people here will be willing to give you some recommendations for cars. I've just published three new cars, that might be of use to you. I'd suggest that the NSX will be the easiest to drive, the Elise is wonderful, but you need to have the confidence to really wring the nut off it. And finally, the Civic, you can't go wrong with a JDM Hatchback..!! It's nearly stock, apart from adjustable parts. Try running it with Sports Hard tyres and you'll find it even more compliant. They're all built for online racing, so may suffer with a little understeer off-line.
