How to embed a count down clock for thread

I've seen others do it before, I think Wardez did it if I recall correctly, maybe I'm mistaken. Either way I'm just curious if there is a way to do it, and if so can I get some assistance.

just a question. I did this but i got a little picture box thing. I mean The timer didnt stay there. I copied and pasted it to the media tab. Is that how you do it?

The website hosting the images is probably a bit flakey.

It looks to me like the gif never finishes loading (which isn't an error, that's how it updates the countdown) so if you click stop or hit Exc, the image breaks and disappears.
