Hi guys,

So, I'm getting back into GT5, and want to race online. Problem for me is, that every room is now titled 'fast&clean' - but every room is just as full with ramming, unfair racers.

How do you find clean races? I'm not the fastest racer at all, I just want clean and funny racing - preferably around 600-650 pp.

I realise that a lot of you guys race with others from your friend list - but I have next to no people on my list.

Any tips? Thanks in advance :)

Join a league here at GTPlanet. Or join some friends, you just need to make some.

Make sure you search for rooms with skid recovery off.

Do not always follow this advice. If you are struggling to find good rooms keep your options open. Definately join a league, they are great fun but serious when it gets to race day. Also add good people you meet online and you can build a good GT5 friend base.

I find filtering by rooms with SRF OFF will often net a higher quality of driver. Even then it may take a few hops around to catch a decent group. Unfortunately as said above unless you join a league or series you are just fishing for rooms with the search feature. Luck of the draw.

My advice: get a few guys from GTPlanet on your friends list, then send them an invite to a room that you started. Remember, your room, your rules. Or, join rooms that say, Clean BS=KICK, or GTP RULES, those rooms usually are run under strict regulations.

Probably the best way of having fun with other players decently is make some friends whom you found polite on general GT lobbies or community such as GTPlanet - the crowds are not sure you're hoping to stick to such good manners in the race.

We're running nurb' races on the daily basis, 400-500pp comfort hard. Add me if you wish to test your skills ;)

With all aids off and you will find a good room. Room with boost on and Skid Recovery kind of tell you that the room is a no good room, most likely full of annoying boys around 9-12 years old sounding like girls, yelling and screaming at people for passing them.

Once you hear a boy sounding like a girl, leave. What ever you do, LEAVE! There is nothing worse than losing because you got rammed in the last corner on purpose by some kid and he thinking he is good and stuff. Ofcourse not all kids are like this, some kids could start look up to you and all you do then is play them like puppets, teach them a thing or two about respect and manner in a race. Works everytime, until you leave the room.

Yes join a league. Far too often online rooms billed as clean are not policed by the host. Another solution is creating your own online lobby. That way you can kick people that you deem are unclean. This morning I was in a Spa room and the host was ramming people off the track including me. I told him to chill because it was just a free run lobby and was promptly kicked 👎

Join GBracingclub.co.uk the home of clean and fair racing on GT5, we race with all aids off have decicated championships and rules and regs for members to follow on track.

check it out you wont be dissapionted

cheers tommy

That was my strategy early on, find a variety of rooms with good hosts, that hold drivers accountable and listen to feedback, friend them, and then look for them online. Or friend guys who know other guys...etc. Joined a couple of leagues like the Cappuccino Cup, 4 seasons now, full of guys that are incredibly helpful and courteous. Also run the 450 pp SS Street Racers nights and when they are in a lounge they are fair, clean and fast.

I mostly avoid Nascar as I find there are few drivers that can run 2 wide on the banking without wobbling all over the place and running you into the wall or onto the apron. Clean Nascar usually means running single file and if you do that with the new weak draft you have no chance to come from anywhere past 3rd for the victory and it turns into a parade.

I also usually avoid any rooms above 600 pp because I've rarely found anyone in this game that can race cleanly at that level. Takes a lot of skill to throw an 800hp street car around a track and be precise and most guys that race in open lobbies don't have that level of skill. Lower pp races will usually offer better driving and going to harder tires, from SS on down, usually keeps the unskilled guys away as they can't drive with RS tires on and don't usually enter those rooms.

Thanks for all the tips guys, really appreciate it! Problem for me with an online league is that I have shifting hours at my job, so I'm hardly able to sign up for any regular racing on a specific weekday.
