How to get a very small website to show up on a google search?

Hello people, I have a question.
Lets say I have a website called pauls car shop.com
how would I make it so the if someone types in Google or yahoo
pauls car shop, the first result is for pauls car shop.com?
I assume we would use meta tags for this? But the question is do I need to do anything else as well or what? like for ex request Google spiders to crawl the website or something like that?
I would try it out for myself but I haven't had time to register the domain yet. (also the pauls car shop is just something random)
Thank you for the help!

This page has some pretty good information about the basics of getting listed in Google. There's a lot more to it if you want to start fighting for specific keywords, although if someone is looking for your site by name they should have no trouble finding it. Yahoo has site submission information as well.

The way you build your site can have a big influence on search engine ratings.

The term you're after is: Search Engine Optimisation.

There a heap of information out there about it, from how to build your navigation to how to include your JavaScript and how to mark-up your content.

Depending on the key words you want people to search will make a difference to how you build your site.

But, as Jordan said, if it's just the name you're after then Google will pick it up eventually.
