Are there people in here with more than 550 cars? And if so, what methods are you using in order to get around the limit? I've been battling with the 550 car limit for a long time, but luckily, I had plenty of duplicates of cheaper cars (from when I first started out flipping cars) I could get rid of still. Last time I was about to hit the limit I dumped just about everything I could, and I was able to get back down to just over 500. But, I've only gotten myself a few of the Porsche so far, and I've actually just bought all of the DLC (had none before). I really need to seriously start looking into solutions now, as I need more room.

So, does anyone have any? I mean, apart from deleting cars you rarely drive?

I've heard of some people putting their cars on the auction house for ridiculous prices and when the auction runs out you just leave it in the 'my auctions' tab rather than recieving them. You'd have to make sure you take them back before 30 days because I think if they stay on there without being retrieved then they are deleted by T10.

I'm not even close to 550 so I don't know by my own experience, just what I've heard of people doing.

If your looking to get rid of some cars...I''ll take the Jag D-Type haha. Actually I'm the other way. I only have around fifty cars. After loading up in GT5 I realized that I only looked at them once in a blue moon, and drove about 30 of them. Different perspectives.

I think the best solution I've read so far is starting a second save (under the same gamer tag) in a different location. Apparently, you can switch between saves, and move cars across via the AH, as both saves will have access to all the cars in the AH. So you push cars you don't need right now into the AH for ridiculous prices, so nobody steals them, switch to the secondary save, and retrieve all the cars into your secondary save, and then you just go back into your primary save. When you need cars in your primary save, you just reverse the process for the cars you need. It only works for unlocked cars, but the locked cars I'd like to keep in my primary save anyway.

Well, the point is, I don't want to get rid of any of my current cars. ;) Even cars I don't drive a lot, I may drive in future, and I just like the idea of having a large selection to pick from. Plus, a lot of space goes into flip cars still, and another big chunk is for cars I got for the paint, and I'm surely not going to get rid of those.

Anyone tried the approach with the second save? Or any others, for that matter?

You're risking a ban with dual saves. Never mind, it's perfectly fine to do this but remember, you would need XBL Gold for both accounts to use the AH.
My solution was to sell off and give away 300 cars. Something I might be doing soon again since I'm back up to 480 from the 380 I had last month.
Trying to go down to 1/2/3/4 cars per manufacturer is tough when some have such great cars.

You can have two accounts anyway can you not? Just use different account setups?
My sons all play the same games, but use different gamertags.
With two accounts you could gift cars to one as a sort of holding tank. No?

You can't gift without GOLD.

You do need gold, but if you do that make sure to accept the gifts on the off-account right away before you forget, because they delete after 30 days i think?

They do delete after 30 days, one of my friends who I gifted a Audi R10 gifted me a full tuned Merc and I just left it in my notices and soon enough it was gone, he happily gives me full tuned cheap cars for my LMPs and thinks we're both getting a good deal. Eventually I told him that he should keep his cars because I either sell them or never collect them but if he needs help I'll send a car his way.

I believe the way you get around this is by using a secondary save in a different location under the same gamer tag. The secondary will be a completely fresh save, but it has access to the same AH as your primary save. In other words, the AH becomes the shared storage of both saves. Storing the cars in the account of another family member would equally work, but, as you've said, requires a second Gold Membership. Not ideal.

A tough choice it is indeed, and one I'd rather not have to make. I want to get more unique cars, not less. Might have to look through, and see whether there maybe are a few I'll really never drive.
