How to get gold in TC track in 80s Special event?

Im having a problem. The PP for even is limited to 420 which is plenty but i always end up being second because the damned MX-7 prodigy is always almost a LAP ahead. By the time its 5th lap and im second he already finished the race. Any advice?
 
You can hit the "edit" button in the bottom right hand corner of your post instead of double posting. 👍

In that case, hit the down arrow in the top right of your post and hit "edit."
 
Try a line up that does not have a MX 5 in it.

Restart about 6 or 7 times will give a race with some slower cars at the front of the pack.
 
@Shwartz - it has only "Moderation Menu" that has "Move Thread" option. Im afraid there is nothing i can do. Sorry.
 
I don't think I can make it much more clear. The little blue arrow under the time posted Or click on the entire gray bar. It still works.
