how to get people to do a tune off?

honestly id like to have a challenge on these forums to see who can get the best tune for a car.

But idk how to do such a thing...

Idk how to organize or hold or anything... i jus tknow i want to challenge the people of gtplanet to see if they can make the best tune for in specific the 2005 Pescarolo Hybride.

I think this is a great car b.c people complain its so hard to handle or is a crap lmp. I think this is false because i for one have a tune were it never spins, still good handeling, and is fast.

So how i organize a challenge?
 
Think this would be better off in the tuning forum. Lots of tuner challenges to be had there.
 
You just do it.

In the tuning forums, there are tuning challenges. To get any participation, you have to have an award.

Aside from that, I started a racing series, where the tuning and racing jobs are separate. I'm driving a car that someone else tuned. So not only are we seeing who is the best driver, but we are seeing who is the best driver in the best tune. And to balance things out, we have teams. So a bad driver like me won't make the tune look too bad.

Short answer, just do it.
 
Tuning Forum would be a good start.
 
hmm... yeah i just want to see how good people can get in this car. Praino63 kinda gave me the idea when i asked him for a tune for this car and the past and he said it needed a tune off to see small tuners show what they can do. Or something along the lines of that.

So i got curious what all he small tuners out there actually can do to this hard car to tune.
 
The Hybride is a tricky one, it will understeer, and then snap back to oversteer without the right tune.

Also, a lot of the smaller shops on this site are very good, such as the Avid Racing Factory (I don't know if they're considered "small", but they don't get mentioned much around here) are very good, but so many people will stick to what they know, or what's popular, so they won't look any farther then the big shops.

What you could do in terms of the competition, is you could open up a tuner's shootout and only let the smaller tune shops compete. Shootouts always seem to draw a pretty good size crowd in terms of tuners.

ive got my particular hybrid pretty much tuned. It barely snapes back in oversteer anymore and it doesnt really understeer.

and tbh... i have 2 set ups on... 1 is for racing.. and 2 to believe or not is for drifting

The Pescarolo Hybride is actually a better drift car then u would thing.. and its rly easy to handle with the simplest tune.

But how to i host a shootout?

I'm pretty sure a race can settle this, you wouldn't need a "tune off" per say, just let the driving decide.

Have a one make race, with stock parts, and have people tune the car how they like. The one who wins, is probably the better tuner. I say probably because some people cheat lol.

best tuner and best driver arnt the same thing...

Example... my brother is a better tuner but im a better driver... So his tunes and my driving = good laps.

Thats 1 reason im one of the people with a drivable pescarolo hybride

If you're going to host a tuning contest you need to brush up on the AUP, the GTPlanet Rules for posting. Proper sentences, capitalization, puncuation, no text speak..etc. If not, you'll find you're in the mod's bad books pretty quick. You can fly under the radar making a post here or there, but you won't get away with it hosting a tuning contest.

I'd assume they'd come hand in hand. A tune can fix a car so it's easily driven by anyone. A bad driver with a good tune is stable, a good tuner without driving skills is still stable, as the tune corrects the car for him. They both have somewhat common areas.

On another note, coming back to your idea, if you don't race the cars, how would one know if the tune is good or not? :confused:

Don't get me wrong, I think your idea is cool, but I'd rather see the results in a race than on paper.

i can see how a bad driver and good tune can cancel but i mean that like a good driver + good tune would be even better than just mixing the 2 together.

How me and my brother do to test if the tune is good or not is he tunes according to what i feel is wrong with the car. Kinda like how they do in life. The driver tells the crew what feels wrong and the Crew changes it according to what the drivers needs are.

We take this process and do it several times till we feel its at a point were it cant be improved. Or till we get tired of doing the process XD.

And id actually love to show the results in a race but i dont have internet for my ps3 sadly. I use some crap aircard atm that doesnt work on ps3. lolz So no ps3 for me till my boss gets his internet installed then he said he will instal it at our house and let us use for cheap.

Lol i can prove like a little offline timetrial though i guess O.o
Someone say there Lmp Time at Nurburgring ( the 1 in gt4 ) and ill try to get a fast time at it in my pescarolo
