How To Get People to join Online room

Can anybody help me on this? I always wondered why I'm never able to get a room started up. I can barely get a room up with 4 people. Like I see all these rooms all the time with pointless and misleading description, yet they always have 7-12 people in their lobby's and rooms. The same for Clubs. I only have 8 people in my club but they are ridiculously inactive! How can I reach my room and club out to the people who actually play this game and race the way I race? I like to hold decently long 5-8 lap races or 10-15 min endurance races with dynamic weather and time progression with GT3, GTE, LMP's and modified street cars.

Is nobody into that kind of racing but me? Someone please help! I haven't been able to fully enjoy a race yet online, because either people want to do endurance races with no time change or fuel and tire consumption, or 1-2 lap races with time change and fuel and tire consumption. Where can I post my club and lobby events to?

Thanks in advance.

First of all you need a good, concise room title.
That's all that people searching for rooms see.

Secondly, people judge rooms by their circuit. If you choose some place like Sarthe or Nurburgring, it generally attracts more members.

Thirdly, not that many people are hardcore, real racers like you. The most popular room types are car shows, cops and robbers, and drag races. To help find the people that are interested in your category, change the room type to "race for real" so that players looking for your kinda race can find you based on that tag.

Fourth is patience. It takes a WHILE for that first few people to join, but the more you have, then faster your room grows.

Now, for clubs.

In order to get people active, schedule periodic events so members know when to be on.

And don't forget, there's a whole GTPlanet category for online racing.

Hope this helps :)

Yesterday I had my first full room that I started. it was "500pp Track Day - No Drifting"
The track was Tsukuba Circuit. Tsukuba is used by a lot of drifters because of it's last turn. This means that more people will see it. By adding no drifting, told people that there would not be any idiots blocking the whole track with smoke, or doing donuts on the straights. (If I just offended someone I sincerely apalogize) By adding 500pp, it prevented any over the top fast cars from participating, (2X, Red bull fan car, etc) and gave everyone a goal; try and set the fastest time. I also disabled the mic so I could set race quality as high as possible. Lobby ran for 2 and a half hours.👍:sly:👍

You need to get a full friends list and when it is full, keep editing it until your list is full of people who play like you. I started racing online with GT5 and originally built my friends list using shuffle racing - all you had to do was include Clean in the title and pick Deep Forest or Trial Mountain as those seemed to be peoples favourite tracks and within a few races you had a full room. For some inexplicable reason PD left shuffle racing out of GT6 - a bizarre decision as it was the best adhoc, unplanned online experience in GT5.

I don't race much online - just organized championships, but if I was in the mood for some unplanned online I used to phone a few friends - that would get the room started with a few members and then it would quickly fill up. Starting a room from scratch without phoning a friend or two and / or sending out a message to everyone on your friends list is a bit of a lost cause as you have found.
