How do you guys learned to drive this car? I started Vettel challenge as soon as I hit Lv 30, Managed to gold Monza in an hour with DS3. Then came Nurburgring - after 5 hours of practice after practice, I just haven't got a clue how to gold this challenge. My best times were 2:08:588 - which I got after an hour, but since then the more I practice, the more unfamiliar I am with this car, and my lap times are getting worse and worse if not better.

I tried all sorts of ABS settings, always kept TC off and SRF on, but is challenge doable for anyone who practice, or am I not gifted enough! When I first got this game I remember doing 30 tries for Licence B-2 and over 200 tries for B-6 and A-8 :sly: Now I wonder how I managed to gold Monza!!!

I don't know if you did it after the new update or not... but you did way better than me. I use a DS3 and I swear... no matter what anyone says, that getting gold is impossible. Even on monza for me. It took me over 20 hours before I got bronze on all 3 with the old times. With being able to turn up the sensitivity now, I beat my old times by two seconds or more. But still no silver. Closest I've gotten is 0.32s from silver in Monza, 2s from silver in Nurburg, and 2.5 from silver in Suzuka. It honestly feels like I'm driving perfect laps that could not be improved.

I got all bronze in about 2 hours and that was good enough for me.

I bronzed Monza the other day and worked on Nurburg for awhile. After getting used to the track at top speed it still took me a good ten times or so to actually complete a lap lol. I was still 2 seconds shy of bronze on that track and have not yet tried Suzuka.

A huge help is putting steering sensitivity on 7 or max.

That car is a real beast, you did way better than me, I was fortunate to get bronze on all 3 trials after hours of practice with the new times. I guess all you can do is practice.

I agree with you, tried monza endlessly, with evend more dc's and got bronze with just a tenth of a sec.

Dropping the Bronze times was a godsend - I spent a solid 2 hours for Nurburgring and 2 for Suzuka. Managed Monza on the 3rd try, but then it is mostly straight.

How do you 'use gears for turns'? You mean don't brake, just change down?

I did them all in auto anyway. Apparently that makes me a bad person...(my brother went as far as to describe it as cheating!)

Not sure if I'm particularly OCD enough to try and gold all the Vettel challenges on the DS3 controller, but I was able to bronze Nurburgring and Monza under the new bronze requirements. Just barely, that is.

Put in about an hour and a half on the 'Ring, and about the same on Monza before I got the rhythm right.

Still working on Suzuka. If I'm in the zone, I can lap the track in about 1:11 - 1:12.

I just need to do that consistently, on two consecutive laps. :P

I am doing this challenge right now at Nurburg and on the second try I finished at 2:23:406 :grumpy:

Oh Yeah! Just got bronze at Nurburg. 2:20:457 lol

Yes!!! Just bronzed Suzuka on 5th try! 2:24:062

Oh I got to get some beers now!

I have been practicing with a lowered PP on the 3 tracks. As I learn and get better I have been increasing the PP. I am almost ready to give it a try and see how I do.

I heard that the Vettels are a real competition with DS3. But also heard of bronzing them would be possible.
What helped me a lot was to switch off my brain and not try to think about what I do. The rest is practise, practise, you name it.

Braking points also are FAR more later than with "normal" cars. Needed a few days to realize this..The X1 is driven with a particular technique, that isn´t really adaptable for any other car on earth :)

Just tried with manual transmission by chance, gosh it makes so much more improvements to times! I can now hit 19.5 on first sector, though I need to get used to steering and shifting at same time.

New bronze requirements? Did I miss something? I was playing Monza a few times and was either still a good way off bronze, or whenever I posted a halfway decent lap, ended up being disqualified. That was on 1.05 still. That's why I figured I'd give it up until I buy myself a wheel (still using the DS3). Was there any change to the times you need to get bronze?

Yeah dude they upped the times considerably for bronze. I got the S. Vettel today :sly: Anyways all the times are in the 2:23 range. I forget the exact times but it's very doable now.

I've only just unlocked the vettle challenge so I had no idea of the old times and how hard they were, but I struggled to get bronze on Suzuka. Found Monza easy, ended up with Silver with DS3, but only bronze on the other two, needless to say Suzuka took me aaaaaaages !!! There is a different way of driving it, confidence !! Throw it into corners and it will apply, but hit the rumble track & it throws you like a Bull in Spain !!!

Cool. Even though I've got three X2010s by now (two traded in, one for level 35 B-spec), I might give that challenge another go then.
