How to make vids?

I've been drifting for a pretty long time, and i really want to make a vid. Thing is i'm not sure how to. I dont really want to just record the t.v. with a digi cam or something. So i was wondering, how do people get their videos so clean like it was programmed into the game?Any answers to my questions would be appreciated.

What you need is a "capture card"... You can buy external capturing devices (Like the Dazzle series), which are connected to your computer via a USB cable... Or, you can do what I did (ideal, really) and buy an internal capture card (like the ATI All-In-Wonder series, or Pinnacle PC TV series), which allows you to hook a video source (via RCA, or S-Video) up to your PC... This allows you to watch, and record any video source on your PC...
