How to re-claim your Paint collection

Just found this few days ago. I've used my Chrome paint on my Lambo and loaned it to my friend for him to complete his Lambo Challenge. To my surprised, once he returned back the car to me through "Gift" and I collected the Gift and I got my car back and my Chrome Paint. So I was thinking I can do this over and over again sending the car to my dummy account and send it back to my main account so I will get lots of Chrome paint. I guess this wil work with other paints too. Happy trying. Cheers!

1. Select the car which you want to paint
2. Go to GT Auto and go to Paint Shop
3. Select any Paint/Color that you want (i.e Chrome)
4. Apply to your car
5. Once done, send the car to your dummy account
6. Go to your dummy account to receive the car
7. Send the car back from your dummy account
8. You will get your car back and the Chrome paint
9. Repeat step 1-8
10. Profit....

Yeah I keep hearing mixed info on this subject too. As far as I know, the consensus was if you paint a car and gift it, you'll actually get the paint chip for the color it was before you painted it. So for example if your lambo was orange and you painted it chrome, you'll actually get an orange paint chip. Or at least that is what I was told. Never actually gave it a try.
 
Maybe this changed in the last patch? I'd think someone would have noticed before now.

Oh well, if there's a way to duplicate chrome chips I'm all about it.

I'm actually starting to think this is buggy. Probably it depends on the car. If I'm right some will give you it's original color while others will give it's current color. However it may depend on the color. Dunno, but it's worth trying to find out.

Which lambo you painted |aCe|? The Gallardo? I guess I'll create a dummy account it try this out latter.
 
Could someone do a follow up experiment on this (currently at work :/) If the patch did indeed allow for chip generation, this is great news.

This is what happened to me many moons ago (1 week perhaps?). I don't think they've "patched" anything since 1.03 so I doubt it's changed.

I might be able to try it again after midnight (I still have the chrome Copen!).
