I have been thinking about this lately, as there have been numerous posts about grinding, and complaints in general about this racing game. I really do not have many things to complain about in this game EXCEPT for the grinding. In Gran Turismo 4 I never encountered this problem. After 6 years, you would think that they would be able to make more than enough races. I am just so sick of the grinding, and I wish that they would just add more race events.
However, I see a very easy way to fix this problem. As we have seen with the addition of seasonal events, I think they could add more GT Life races the same way. Just throw them in a patch, like the seasonals, and add more as time goes on. It's a driving simulator, not a grinding simulator.

C'mon Kaz ;)

Sort of agree with you here, there just is not enough races in GT5 the Aspec career is very very short and it really does not take to long to finish/complete it , the only thing that drags it out are the Endurance races, and there just a cop out for the short career IMHO

meaning that if you want to build a car collection you have to do the same ole races over and over again , but even then If like me you like classic cars which there are a good few in this game or a certain type of car once you have got them you have no races to use them in, pointless really

I think to most other than GT die hards this game is going to have a very short life span, simple because there is just not enough in this game the career is far to short and mundane no real variety

Shift love it or hate it had a far better and much longer career path what with the levels then the challenges and then the invitationals then the hot laps then drifting the career was long and varied, £40 well spent and then when they added the exotic tour for an extra £7 the game doubled in size and it was quite a long career path to start with.

Hi guys,

What about this ideia:

Races that you need to pay to get into. This races will be against other players and the prizes will made by the entering credits. Like, a beting system as there is in Black ops.
You could earn more credits and do different races. You still have to work for the cars but you dont need grinding.

Earning credits in online races is good enough, we don't need a betting system where you lose your credits because a moron drives you off the track.

We need more restricted and better rewarding A-spec events.

I also sort of agree. I wish that grinding was not a nesscary part of the game. It's a driving simulator right. The reason I bought the game was to drive and race cars that I don't have enough money to buy. The frustartion I find is that I have to drive a car around a track 100 times, to drive another. I recently found trading, within a week ago, to relieve this problem but it seems that is not going to be around after March 3.

No offence Divinus, but if they implerment that as a way of packing more into the game what did we pay our £50 for in the first place ? a lot of people that brought this game don't play on line they brought the game for its own playable content which lets be honest there's not a lot of.

The solution to grinding would be a change to race payouts to reflect the level of assists you have on, like Forza does. I'd like to get paid twice the amount for not racing with the crap assists on. It's annoying that someone can run an almost crash-proof car and gets the same payout.

What does that achieve if you don't like doing the same race over again? Surely the seasonal events are the better option since they offer more variety and let you earn the XP to progress (I'm assuming you grind for the opportunity to run the endurance races).

PD could do like they did with the standards - port all GT4 events to GT5 and I would be happy (prizes and all - of course)

In my opinion the best way to to fix the grinding problem would be to;

Increase prize money to a MUCH higher level after the professional series(lvl 14/15) and to have it so prize money is dependent on your A-spec level not the level of the race. That would make racing online a lot more fun and worthwhile without out making it too easy for people who have just started the game.

SEVERELY reduce the cost of engine rebuilding and chassis overhauls. Spending the same on rebuilding a car as buying one is ridiculous.

To go give you further ammunition as to why grinding is wrong, to buy every car in the game it would set you back 491mil credits. If you were to grind every second, day and night on indianapolis for 14 days you still wouldn't have enough.

why not add shorter races on 30min that requires lvl 30-40. Nasty cr & xp payout. Only a few cars allowed, tough races even with the best cars allowed.
Only challenging in this game is the special events. And they are booooring...

With each update comes a subtle admittance that PD really did cock up big time.

I don't know about anyone else but seeing the latest seasonal events was great, seeing the FF challenges etc. Why so great? Because it took me back to GT3 (which is still my favourite GT btw) God how I'd love to have that many events available again.

PD just go back to GT3, pick out all of the events that can apply to GT5 and implement them in A Spec!

I love the idea of XP and credits being directly related to the aids that you use ... I drive with no aids & no ABS so this would suit me perfectly! :P Maybe we could take that one step further and you get more credits for using sports tyres instead of racing tyres etc.

In my opinion the game play is to short and to non varied , the career path is redicously short , the only thing that adds to this is the addition of seasonal events with out them this game would be over in next to no time

Alot of the above ideas are good

But even then its still the same ole boring races against AI`s that don't race

This game needs many more varied races and a much longer career path IMHO

They have got all the tracks from past GT`s to fall back on they have got rallies & rally tracks all ready implemented in the program a long with day-night/weather/ why not make use of all this a turn out a fully loaded career game

Gt5 to me just feels like an extended prologue it does not represent a full game in my opinion at all

You know, another thing would be to have the engine mods/upgrade prices to be dependent on the car. The $30,000 Stage 3 upgrade will give you 12hp on some cars, and 60hp on others. If the car costs 1.4 million, then it makes sense. But why pay $30,000 for 15hp on a car that originally cost you $17K?

More A-Spec would definitely be a welcome addition.

May I say this again, this is a driving simulator. Leave the "EXP" to the role-players.

im not sure why people complain about grinding, yes, i did it early in the game, but over the last week, i took 3 of my sub accounts and took them all from 0 a and 0 b, and all of them are over 20 on each and all have over 3 million dollars within a day or 2 by doing the bonus 7 races with cars i shared from my main account, and remote racing.

now 3 of my sub accounts have 5 bobs each, and i host a remote race on my main account and use my 15 bobs, and reap the rewards on each account. since they are going to ban the trading for the most part, i figure i will try to get my other accounts to over L30 without having to run races over and over.

Its not the grinding so much Its the lack of career resulting in grinding the same ole races again and again, the career in this game is so small its like a prologue extension instead of a full game.

just let us win the prize cars more than once and allow us to sell them for big money, like we did back on gt4 and everbody was happy...

If this is a game they intended to be played for years, then what do they expect me to do? Do the Dreamcars Championship each day so that I can buy another color X2010 after three weeks?

Seriously, when I'm talking about grinding, I'm not just talking about doing Indy a thousand times... I've done every interesting A-spec race so often by now that every corner in the game is starting to feel stale, no matter which version Skyline I use. And that even includes at least a dozen times the shorter endurances.

The utter lack of content in this game is insulting. Especially when, like me, you don't play online.

Thats how it has been in every GT. Each of them had a race that gave away a good car to sell and get good credits off of. GT5 killed the fun by not being able to win a prize car more than once like said 👎:yuck:

I really like both of these ideas
