It's a problem that frequently happens to me since I started racing in GTP leagues and events. Two players that don't see each other they see each other loading forever in the menu. It's an issue that can cause lots of problem when the two drivers are battling for a position or in a pack at the start

I don't know if there's a difference between a lounge and a public lobby but it never happened to me in a public lobby.

I already restarted my router and cleared my cache on GT5 but I don't know what more can I do so here's my asking for your help.

Thank you.

Set up port forwarding or open all ports to your PS3.

Put your PS3 in a DMZ using your router.

I don't know what type of internet you have, but consider speeding it up…or possibly slowing it down. Too much speed can cause packet loss, increasing lag.

Do everything you can to improve your NAT type. I called my ISP and they opened all ports at my house. That helped a lot.

After that you may still have issues with people who are just of poor compatibility with you. You can try this: when you get in the room and notice the trouble, ask them to leave the room and come back in. In the meantime, do not enter the racetrack or screw around with settings. Just wait in the lobby screen. In my experience, being clear of any "network distractions" will give you a chance to make your initial connection better.

Good luck

The simple way is to disable the firewall on your modem or router. I had the same isues months ago at times. I finally caved and disabled it. Problem solved.

I've been putting off figuring out how the DMZ setup works for years, maybe I should try it. I often seem to have this problem. I recently was in a room for a couple of hours(had taken a several month break from my limited previous online experience) before I realized that the 5 or 6 invisible people in the room were in fact on-track... I was foolishly thinking they were idle or stuck connecting and something was just screwing up the grids and making one car always seem to be starting in the wrong place.

Fixed Host public lobby hosted by someone that both those affected people can 'see' will fix this.

There are many reasons for this issue - some 'fixable', some not through local connection settings. The 'fix' above will work for all of them.

I had that situation with a fellow GTP member, he did something to figure it out. I will message him with a link to the thread and he can explain what he did. 👍
