How to set up Head Tracking successfully

Hi guys,

I can't manage to set up the Kinect Head Tracking successfully at all.

I sit around 3 feet away from the TV and have the sensor on top, I also have a GT2 wheel and stand in front of me.

I tried several times yesterday to get it working well but couldn't manage it.

The warning at the bottom of the screen basically saying Kinect can't see me was almost always there.

Any tips at all as I've read people say it's amazing!

I think you might be too close... you must be at least 6 feet away from what I understand. I had that same problem but now it works perfect.

1-Use the Kinect Tuner (dashboard) to calibrate the sensor to your settings.
This will allow you to adjust angle and depth of sensor tracking.

2- After you have done this load up FM4 and adjust the configuration settings. Before you touch anything set all back to default and work from there. First sit in your playing position and move further and closer to the sensor to locate the depth of tracking. You will notice yourself in the tracking window go from not-tracked to tracked to not-tracked, shown by your head being not-visible, visible, back to not-visible. Make sure your position is visible. My estimate is between 3-5 ft from the sensor. Next, and I cannot remember what the name of this exact setting is called, but it is the bottom configuration that allows you to adjust what the sensor "sees." It is drop background or something like that. Make sure the majority of your head and little else are on screen.

The sensor works best on top of the tv at a slight angle downward toward the player, or directly inline, height wise, with the players head.
