Ok, so I finally did it! I ground out a cool million plus change and have completed all of the races up to the last series on Pro level. So which car would you say would be the best all around purchase from here out? I'm looking for something that will be the best fit for the most races ahead. I had considered some of the Nissan racers, since they keep kicking my rear end at Nurburgring, but was also looking at the McLaren F1.

Any thoughts?

McLaren F1 is a sweet car!
I love it, Bob loves it, everybody loves it!

(Cockpit view is great, btw)

If I were you....I'd grind up to 4.5-5 million and buy the Formula GT, you'll need it later on and it's faster than any of the Nissan racers, although I admit, those Nissan racecars are very, VERY cool. But the Nissan racecars all cost around 4 million too.

Edit: I now get it, you meant the Nissan Super GT racecars, I thought you meant like the r92cp etc.

Save up a few more million and wait for a group c car in the ucd. It will come in handy for the championships and the extreme stuff. Or you could rm a zr1.

Actually for only about 2.3 mil you can grab a Toyota gt-one that will do the same.

Yea maybe a super gt car, good value and fairly flexible. Whatever looks cool to you. Don't dwell on credits and spending too too much, soon they'll be flowing generously from the lv 23 American championship Indy race.

I wish it were so easy in reality.

On second thought, an RM'ed ZR1 would be a pretty good idea.

The race-moddable cars are some of the best in the game. You might be able to get 3 of them with that money. Fun to set up.

While a ZR1 RM is a great car, it can´t beat the fascination and sheer excitement of the McLaren F1. I bought the thing a couple of days ago and it is every bit as good as you might think it is.

One question regarding the F1 though, isn´t the gearing a bit to long? That thing reaches 185 km/h in 2nd gear!?

I thought that it may have the same bug as the F40.

Other than that (which is easily fixable) it is an astonishing car.

I would also agree with the recommendations for the McLaren F1 and the ZR1 RM. Both different, both fantastic.

I've just blown 3.5m on a f1 bmw mclaren gtr in the UCD. Not sure if I should have bought something else now. Here's hoping for more seasonal events!

Incidentally it isn't a bug with the F40 as the car has identical gearing in real life. I presume that the same is true of the F1.

I would agree that your best bet is to save the money until you have enough for the Formula GT as you will need that and it does come in rather handy for Bob!

I've saved $11.4 M so far... and I'm so reluctant to buy anything new. No FGT, no GT cars, no Touring car yet. I'm happy with where I'm at. :sly:

But looks like I'll need to get something to advance! As much as I hate spending credits :nervous:

I'm on about 7 million, still buying one or two standards as they come up but nothing crazy expensive, so the credits are still creeping up. That said, I haven't really plundered the premium cars yet and could easily spend most of that at some of the dealerships. I don't know whether to save for a Chapparal (I like both) or a Miura (my favourite car) or even the full 20million for a P4, or just blow most of it on about a dozen premiums.

Decisions!

Dozen premiums! The Chaparral 2J is good for novelty value, and not much more, as the Toyota 7 is faster. The 2D's acceleration is pretty abysmal. And the Miura is just plain extortion for what it is.

Corvette ZR1 RM, is the best value. Its about 700k new, and will destroy pretty much everything that you can use it in. Its also great for farming cash at the Indy American race. (100k in 4 minutes). But too be honnest, you'll get the Minolta pretty soon anyway, that blows things away. 1000hp and like 800kg.

Get the McLaren F1. Upgraded it gets an awesome power to weight ratio. It gets over 700 HP (I keep it around 700 though) and ends up a little under 1000kg. That car is GREAT for Nurburgring. I wouldn't bother saving up for an LM or F1 car. You'll hardly ever use it for any events and unless those are the types or races you love, you'll never use the thing online. Super powerful race cars end up being joke cars because most hosts prefer to run production cars.
