How to start out in GT3

Starting out in GT3 can be somewhat nerve-racking. Starting out with $18,000; that's not much if you want a winning car. I recommend the Toyota Sprinter (not highly). A Mazda Miata is also a worthy choice.
After you buy the car of your choice (I hope that you read the 1st paragraph) After doing so make sure to change you OIL. By doing so you will gain a few horsepower. If you buy the Toyota Sprinter you will have $4,000-$5,000 to work with. On the other hand , if you buy the cheapest Miata you will have just enough money left to change the oil.
I started with the Toyota Sprinter and instanly noticed that is was downright ugly. The Miata has good looks. Don't let me tell you what cars you should buy (I have 48 of them) but hey, there's nothing wrong with a suggestion.

I believe, if driven right, the toyota Sprinter Trueno can outrun the Miata because of the weight difference. The Trueno is a very light car so it can also take turns at a faster speed, but the downside to the car is that it is VERY hard to control, even with ACS and TSM. If you set it correctly, it can be very easily controlled and stuff......BTW i'm not talkin about driftin here, which is what i usually talk about in my posts ^_^

escudo suck its for damm ****ing noob who jsut want to erase the cahllenge in a test course race......i chose the nsx cause it got the best handling and the mr type are all good choice

hey ting, u need to adjust your driving style dood. i restarted with a ae86 and put the asm on 0 and tcs on 1, it handles just fine tho its a little light in the back so you just have to make sure the AI dont bump ya in the corners.

lol....i meant that the AE86 is hard to drive if u fix it up with turbo and everything...and with no real good settings like just lowering it and leaving everything else stock (which is what i used to do) =P
Now, i've changed its settings here and there and can drive it really well lol

if you really want to cheat and you are starting over again you could buy a mx5 for under 18000 fully hot it up with evrey thing then save the game reset ps2 take out memory card so it doesnt load your game put memory card back and with your new game use your 18000 cr and go to trade and buy the brand new fully hotted up mx5 from the saved game. do u follow. otherwords for 18000 you get a brand new mx5 fully hotted up

I didn't vote in the poll cuz I'm only driven two of the cars listed, the Escudo and the Vanquish. I think most people hate teh Escudo other than it's insane hp and max speed, or maybe to re-win an endurance here and there very quickly. As for the Vanquish, blah. It's cool looking and everything (I won the British Racing Green one in a race somewhere), it's a good car, I can handle it and win some races with it and I consider myself a newbie. The downside is, at least with my testing, the Vanquish is very hard on tire compared to other cars. I always race with Super-slicks, and they barely make it through 10 laps if that when with other cars I can go 15 laps and I feel comfortable. Maybe I have some settings wrong, it's just not for me. There's always better handling and faster cars anyway.

As for starting a new game, I recommend a Vitz 1.5 RS highly! It's cheap as hell ($13000 I think), you can get through the Sunday Cup with a stock one (watch out for the Civic!) and with all the money that's left over plus a few extra race prize money, Stage 2 Turbo it and it can beat both the FF Challenge and Clubman Cup. And with that money you can upgrade a bit more to what you desire, then you can beat the Beginner League Vitz Race if you're ok at driving FF cars. $5000 a pop, and a $10000 bonus at the end of the series plus another Vitz you can sell for over $3000. That's over $38,000 for a championship that's so early in the game. You can buy a new car or keep upgrading the Vitz and go to the Pro League Vitz Race (if you're really good at driving FF cars)..... ok, I'm telling how to beat the whole thing now and I'm barely past 50% done.

If you don't like the Vitz or have done it before and want something new, check out the Toyota Sprinter Trueno or the Miata. Both good choices too, I just prefer the Toyota Vitz.

Ok, you want a 200mph car. Well generally speaking. Tye more horsepower, the faster the car.

So, a good tip for a 200mph car is the one on that list that has almost 2,000hp.

well, when deciding upon the best 200mph+ car, one must consider some factors such as handling, looks, etc.

i was nice to my friend and bought a R34 vspecII skyline, added every single upgrade to it, changed its oil, then sold it to him for about 11000 credits

i tried to get one of my friends into playing gran turismo, and hes one of those people into those bloody, violent, kill em all games. me too, but i thought it would be a good idea to get him started off pretty well.
he tried starting off by himself but got bored and quit. so i took a PT Cruiser and added 150,000$ worth of upgrades to it and he bought it off of me for 17,980 or whatever the price is.
he got bored of it again and quit. i always thought he was incompotent like that, but starting off in GT3 is fairly slow.
