I am not too sure on this one - possibly a repost.

The LR3 is towing a Impreza through some turns when the wheel locks on the Subaru mid-turn and destructiong follows. They didn't have the key in the ignition, so the wheel locked! Yay!

Bang-up job!

Language warning if you have a good ear (or are from Australia).

Yeah, this one's a repost, but still kind of funny in a pathetic way.

I wonder why they were towing the STi? Did it not run or something? ANd why the heck did they have the ignition turned off!?

..Trying to save petrol?? (stupid idea I know but then so are they)

It had a rollcage...perhaps was in a rally?

But it's common sense to put the key on "ON" when you're towing like that, otherwise, it gets locked up.

That car was too street-looking to be in any sort of rally, there is no rally computer, there's traffic, they seem to be familiar with the LR3 driver on the phone, and they don't use Land Rovers as sweeps at rallys very often.

Sweeps? New term...

They should have yelled John a bit louder.

Good thing they did have the roll bar in there or that car would have had much worse damage. Also good they were just using a tiny tow strap or tiny rope. With the knowledge of safety built into that car, I am surprised they let something simple like the ignition being on slip their mind. Oh well live and learn.
I guess its also a possibility they bought the car like that and maybe they have no knowledge of cars at all.

my votes for that last point :p
LR3 thats such a dull name lol why dont they just keep calling it a discovery :odd: they wouldnt use that for rallys anyway, its only meant for taking the kids to school :p the old decent ones maybe tho..

Sweeps? New term...

At most rallies, the cars pass at the determined interval, and after the last car has started, they send out a couple trucks called sweep cars or sweeps. These are usually proper SUVs or pickups with winches. If they find a car in the ditch, they ask the driver if they need a hand. At this point, if the driver accepts the help, he is DNF'ed for the stage. Then the trucks pull out the car onto the road and to the end of the stage.

The story i have heard is that the car was being toed by Andy Forrest a hugely respected Subaru tuner in the UK, after the car encountered a few problems on a mapping session. Accidents happen is the only way to look it really.

is that so :p sure doesnt look like uk countryside there minus respect now then for stupid mistakes :p
