how to update gt5 with USB only? possible or not?

Ive just borrowed gt5 to a friend of me but he aint connected properly to get the game updated. Is it possible for me to somewhere get all the updates (hopefully all in 1file) then get it over to a USB?

Edit: update game with USB like it should be possible to update PS3 system?

I don't think you can update GT5 via USB, to be honest... But, I'm not 100% sure.
 
You can't unless you Jailbreak your PS3.
 
Sorry to hear that. PD should really let us be able to download the patch(es) from their web site or something/somewhere :/
 
I dont know if this will help but you can find a friend/buisness to fully update your PS3/GT5 or do the same and stop at the desired update you want to install. Sorry!
 
What? Like I could take mye friends PS3 home and do it myself? Its a 2 hour drive away lol but yeah that might just be the solution..

No, take your PS3 to his house and update it there, considering he has internet.
The only thing you can update via USB is the system itself.
 
I think you can only really update the game with internet access because there may be no links where you can download the GT5 Game Data where those updates are in it.
