Doesn't that still happen today? Phenom X6's are clocked higher than the Intel counterparts, but the Intel ones seem to be faster (from what i've seen) :indiff:

Well i am running my touchpad @ 1.512Ghz, instead of the 1.188Ghz.

Yes i overclocked it.

Well since i am not putting it on a full load i cant say.

The 2nd core shuts down when not needed.

But i can find a way to get a program to fully load the CPU i will find out.

It is so much more than just pure CPU cycle speed. Remember the Pentium 4 vs Athlon/ Athlon 64 days? Pentium 4 usually had a higher CPU speed, so it MUST be faster than an AMD Athlon, right?

In those days, AMD actually marketed their chips as "equivalent to" Intel's clocks, even though they weren't actually clocked at the same number (from what I can remember of my previous processor, it was clocked at 1.5GHz, but it carried the 2000 brand, denoting it was similar as an Intel 2Ghz processor at the time...)

The WebOS dev team has hacked a iPad 2 and found it running 2 times faster then the Touchpad despite the fact that the TouchPad has better hardware.

Myth

The Athlon 6400 XP what ever(i am an intel fan) was a rating on performance rating see Performance Rating, not Pentium 4 clock.

This has to do with RAM clock(Apple may use a higher clocked ram), and CPU Pipelines see Megahertz Myth, Megahertz Myth Video, more CPU cache, better CPU instructions(SSE, SSE2, MMX, ect)

Well my touchpad died(and no it is not due to overclocking as i only used the OC settings to show off at work).

Anyone else get that Opps that hurt message, even when u safely removed the touchpad from your PC?

Cause i did and then it died.

Good thing is i forced HP to come and pick it up and repair/replace it.

They said i should go back to place of purchase and get it swaped over being under 14 days but how can i get somthing swapped if their is no stock to swap it with.

Good news everyone

(if you read this in Farnwells voice, you watch too much futurama)

HP will produce an other batch of Touchpads to satisfy customer demand.

So maybe i can find one this time.

And also good news for you grayfox. Just ask to get a new one as soon as HP stocks them again.

Why?
Why are HP so incompetent?

They have not even come to pick up my faluty touchpad and when i called them yesterday.

I get told to charge the device and press the center button and power even though i told him their is no webos on it and it is just telling me to reinstall webos.

I will call them again tomorrow and demand a replacement for this extream annoyance.

Mmm, just because its developers won't be putting anything into it doesn't mean it won't be a nice $99 portable web browser for the next couple years if you can't afford a full-priced tablet. Frankly, the majority of my iPad use is just for Safari and Reeder.

The browser on this thing is terrible. However, Tea Reader is a great app for RSS feeds and there is an unofficial instapaper client for those with the $1/mo. subscription.
