Felt this deserved its own thread really, considering the others cars have threads. And yes, the car is called "HRT" :dunce:

From what I can see, looks like a decent design, very similar to Virgin's but with a more developed front wing. I reckon Dallara have designed a car with decent pace but its reliability is going to be the biggest question mark.
The first few races won't be representative of pace because they will be still learning the car, I mean while everyone else works on setup at Bahrain practice, they will be learning the car's abilities still!
The driver line-up is the weakest of the new teams too, so I'm predicting back of the grid for HRT for most of the season. Hopefully Senna can surprise, Toleman-Senna style.
 
Yup, people were saying the Virgin VR-01 reminded them of Midland...I think HRT wanted to 1-up them :crazy:
I kind of like the grey though, it will stand out at least! Its almost like an inverted Sauber livery!
 
Good to see them making progress. I think it will be up to the pace as it has been designed by Dallara, who has much experience with building open wheelers. We will just have to wait and see.
 
Yeah, I'm sure a certain Holden touring car team is gonna be contesting that name..

Let's see here ... in a fight between a Formula 1 team that the FIA probably needs to make the grid in order to retain whatever sembalance of credibility they have left up against a touring car team in little old Australia, who do you think the Powers That Be will listen to more? It's much more likely that HRT will simply be known by their common name, Hispania.
 
HRT is merely an acronym - the full name is it's er name... so it's immaterial...

So so glad that we've got a 12 car finally on the grid... fingers crossed USF1 can make it next year (or another new team)

I'm not qualified to comment on design - but I quite like the Grey... although I make that 3 grey cars on the grid now?! McLaren, Merc & MRT - er HRT... at least they're all using different shades.

The results of preliminary scrutineering also removed doubts over the new Hispania team's participation this weekend.

The future of the Spanish team was secured last month after a buyout but the car, which will be driven by F1 rookies Bruno Senna and Karun Chandhok, has yet to hit the track after Hispania skipped testing.

They will get their first opportunity to do so when first practice begins at 0700 GMT on Friday.

In isolation, it doesn't look like a bad car. We'll not know anything for certain until first practise tomorrow morning . . .
