I like to turn both off while driving a premium car,
I can't turn off HUD in standard cars, since there are no speedometers.

What about you?

I have the HUD on for A-Spec races offline, or if I'm testing a car/new tune out. However, if I'm online in a premium car, I'll always use cockpit view with no HUD. Especially around the 'ring.

he means nurburgring, for me always off where should i need it for i know when i have to change gear just like in real life just listen to the engine

Nurburgring. It's shortened to the 'Ring. (EDIT: Damn, tree'd by Michael :irked:)
If I'm just driving, it's HUD off (unless it's standard). For a time attack, it's bumper and HUD on. And for a race (on or offline), it's generally bumper with HUD 👍

I would like to turn everything off, but sometimes I can't seem to remember which gear I'm in (mainly on the Nurburgring).
In order to turn it off the car should have a decent tachometer, so I know when to shift.
So sometimes everything is off, sometimes the HUD is on.
Map is always off though.

Everything off. No guides, no aids, nothing... except for the X1 challenge.

I have a G27 so I don't need to memorize anything. Been driving stick all my life so no need to teach me when to shift. Also, I like to drive in GT5 just like in real life, so I brake and gas based on the engine sound, no red flashing lights and all that ********.

What I'd like to see in an update is more options regarding the HUD. For example, in an endurance race, all I want to know is the state of tyres and amount of fuel. I can't set it like that 👎

When I am driving for fun I take everything off, no matter if I am in a standard or premium car.
One thing bothers me though when driving using the "bumper cam" with all the hud off, why cant we disable the giant rear view mirror? I mean, its a part off the hud right? Bothers me when I am driving a standard car and I dont want anything reminding me on the screen that I am driving in a computer game

I like to use the hud with the least amount of times i can... I've got to a point where i know the car well on a specific track i.e. The JGTC xanavi nismo gt-r r35 around Nurburg. it lasts about 2 laps (3 if im relying on draft and being conservative with cournering and braking)... Some cars do show how much gas is left... You just have to look around... But for the tyres, RS' run about 2-5 laps on just about any course... Maybe even 6 if you dont rumble the controller... Haha hey has anybody held an enduro on a track with no pits? Its pretty interesting on who can make their tyres last the longest... (ssr7, tgtt, etc.) but thats off topic... When online I only use the map locked to car at 3 when in interior view with no hud... That way i can see who's trying to pass me when they're in my blindspots...

Is there anyway like there is in Forza to turn HUD off but press up for example and it temporarily comes up to tell you what place your in etc?

I only keep the lap timer on, for any car I'm driving:)

For premiums, I use the gauges in the cockpit, whereas I use my gut to drive standards:sly:
