Hudson Hornet was introduced in 1951, the model above is from 1948, so its a Commodore.
And yet:
1948 Hudson Hornet
began racing, at the wheel of a self-prepared Hudson Hornet
1948 Hudson Hornet
1948 Hudson Hornet
1948 Hudson Hornet
Curious, isn't it?

For what it's worth, the Andrettis reportedly called it a "Hudson Hornet Sportsman". I reckon it might have started out as a Commodore or a Super (Club Coupe either way), but all that remained was a shell and once stripped of the trim differences between the two there's no way to tell. The 7X engine is basically an off-the-shelf race engine derived from the Hornet's 308, which is probably why they called it that - and all of that is probably why PD just called it "1948 Hudson" in GT6.

Personally I'd be tempted - as it's a race car - to go with what the Andrettis called it, plus the required other info: Hudson Hornet Sportsman #7 Mario Andretti 1948. That does blur the "first year of competition" rule a bit though, which would be 1959 I think.
