Seven episodes aired so far and also shown on Channel 4's player as well as in the US. Eighth episode due on Sunday.

The series is set in a parallel version of the world we know, where synthetics have come to form a part of daily life. It is about how we perceive them, and what it is to be human from the perspective of both sides of the coin.

Pretty good series which gives the viewer plenty to think about throughout. Okay it's not 100% original, the series first-off is a remake of Real Humans (Äkta Människor) a series from Sweden, although apparently they do differ from each other in some areas. The original has also been held back from distribution in the UK and US due to the release of the remake, which I wish they wouldn't do. Some of the themes, obviously have been explored in films such as AI and I Robot, both in themselves re-imagining of SF stories anyway. There is of course the almost obligatory reference to the governing robotic laws of safety as Asimov partitioning.

All of that being said, Humans is a good series, which even the original creator likes, and has some good casting choices. If you like AI related stories, then this will be for you.

Watched the last episode of the first series last week and I'm glad it didn't end on a cliff-hanger as so many series seem to enjoy doing.

A second series has been confirmed already, so I suppose this thread (wildly popular as it is...) will probably be quiet until then ;)

I just finished the first season as well. As a casual futurist and programmer/tech enthusiast, I really enjoyed it.

I don't really watch TV series etc, and just happened to walk in as the first episode was on and I really enjoyed it. Ending seemed weird to me, but it's like the terminator or matrix films, all comes together at the end.

Let's hope season 2 is as good, would be good to see the rise of the anti-synth group as an important part of the story.

I think the anti-snyth group was always going to be important to the story, after all, there will always be those who project their problems onto convenient targets ;)

Crazy bump sorry

Season 2 will be starting end of this month. I was quite excited for it after the end of season 1, I know I should be now but the advert has kinda put me off. Channel 4 haven't done a very good job at advertising. The trailer only catches your attention if you know of the series, apart from that it wouldn't interest me. Looks like a genuine advert for real technology.

I've got a feeling they'll be running this series very low cost and will stray from the original idea. I hope not, but not having a proper trailer leaves me with mixed feelings.

Not having 'regular' TV in the house, I haven't seen the new advert yet - though I did hear of the trailer yesterday - I'll have to give it a watch.

I missed the first series, and only looked after I spotted Katherine Parkinson in a teaser for the season 2 trailer... Took me a while for me get past her as Jen from the IT Crowd - Thankfully, very easy to rewatch the first series.

As far as I'm aware it's an episode-for-episode clone of the original but in English. The other difference is that the original (Swedish) version is a little more adult.

Four episodes watched now and it's heating up action-wise - I'd be interested in hearing from any members from Sweden who have watched the original.
