Anyone interested?????????? :)
HAL
You can lift a lot more weight than normal with this thing. Made me think of "the 6 miljon $ man" with Lee Major.

I think the only practical uses for these tpye of thing are in the military.

But who knows, they might consider it a fashion statement in Japan.

Search and rescue, maybe, but not military... who needs something that'll make moving difficult?

I think it would help you carry more supplies without tiring so easily...so it would be good for foot soldiers.

If anyone bothered to read the text they'd know this apparatus has huge potential in helping people to walk who are disabled in some way. I bet it'll cost many thousands of dolars though.

Wasn't this one of Time's invention of the year? Seems like a good concept to me, although it has a cyborgish feel... :nervous:

👍 Exactley what I was thinking.

@skip: I suppose it would be good for the Military in that case, but not directly in combat, though. Not until it's strong enough to support 1/2" Titanium armor... :D

Woah, his company is called Cyberdyne. :scared:

Actually, I've seen demonstration of HAL before. It's actually very interesting. The suit weighs a LOT, though. That's about the only problem with it. You move slower than a dry turd when trying to get from point A to point B. That is, of course, in the demo I saw. I don't know if they've made any advancements or revisions since.

I guess some day we'll have mech suits and tachikomas just like Ghost in The Shell.

Yep, it does but I read in an article, yesterday (that's how I got this idea to start this thread) that they want to create a suit, in the next 4 - 5 years, not thicker than a normal suit (piece of clothing).
