I've done a brief check of the forum, including a vague search, but i was wondering what the battery meter shown on Hybrid cars does.

I know it's white when i'm braking (so i guess charging) and red when accelerating.. i do notice it gets shorter...

Is there any benefit to keeping a lot of electricity? or is the meter there just like the gas gauge and is mostly there for aesthetics (aside from enduros)?

The battery meter is there to show how much battery is left to power the electric motor. It doesn't matter much in a race, but on long straights, you will notice a slight speed boost if the battery is full (red arrow and bars of energy) versus completely empty (no bars and arrow disappears). You have the boost as long as you have the discharge arrow and only lose it if the arrow disappears and all the energy bars are gone. The white arrow indicates the battery is charging.

It should also be noted that batteries cannot be recharged at the pits, so you may want to stay away from enduros with a hybrid/electric ;)

after testing the electric cars the battery can charge but only when its coasting and if the bat runs out it will run on it gas motor. im a lil surprised no one made a "Eco green cup" with the pruise and crz tc

Shhh... I'm workin' on it. ;)

I'm a little confused on the actual topic though, so, red arrow is... bad? Meaning your battery is depleting? White arrow means good?

thanks for the info!

I was quite surprised that there was no hybrid class race in GT's GT life mode.

I'd be in for some TC action... i love my prius. :) allbeit, i'm not a great racer

We've had an Algore Eco Challenge event in every UKGTP LAN since 2006.
