Hyundai Tiburon:Original or not?

From the front looks to me like a downgroaded Toyota Supra "JUST FROM THE FRONT", dont bash me if u dont think that.

lol - right now I've got the only vote and that's for no. IMO, the front looks like a Chevy Cavalier 'cept with Projection headlights...

That being said - it is one heck of a car - I took the GS-R (??) out for a rip on the weekend... Not a bad car. It still has some cheezy plastic-y bits on the inside, but a decent car for the price.

Actually, it's the rear view that reminds me most of the Cougar, the sit of the tail lights and the angle of the metal between the tail lights is very reminiscent of the Ford.

I dont realy care if it looks kinda like a Supra or not. think it is a pretty cool car. I dont know of many sports cars from this company. Hell, Id drive it.

In real life the Supra is much more sculptured and lean that the Tiburon - the Hyundai is quite 'full' in its surfaces.

I would have to say the headlights look alike to an extent, but the comment about the Cavalier kinda does match up some with the bumper and headlights.... They are decent looking cars in real life though. I don't think I would drive one though.

Hey I dont think it looks like any car, and for a car company that is still up and coming, I for one think they have a done a wonderful job and I like it. I hope hyndai keeps it up.

Well, they've certainly made some enormous improvements in quality in the last two or three years.

They just need to stop churning out clunkers like the Elantra.

I think half the surprise of the Tiburon is that it's on the Elantra chassis and actually goes around corners okay.

They're heading in the right direction - but they've still got a long way to go.

They will have arrived when my partner considers buying one - and this is the woman who refused to test drive the Camry as apparently we have a certain image to maintain.

Vat_Man - I'm not sure what models have made their way to Australia, but in the last year or so they redesigned the Elantra completely and made one heck of a inexpensive little car... (as opposed to their old "cheap little car")

Just to show that you can't always fall back on the "reliable" brands... My girlfriend has a 99 civic that falls way behind the Elantra in fit and finish and "all the little things".

Nah - we've got that model here.

With the way the pricing's worked out for them, the Elantra's about the same price as the Holden Astra - and I know which way I'd be heading....

I've driven a base hatch of the current Elantra and found the chassis particularly soft and underdamped. The build's pretty good, and it's a lot better than the previous model (which was just rubbish), but it felt particularly uninspiring.
