This is the second DS2 that gets broken, but this time, it wasnt my fault. While playing Virtua Fighter4, the forward digital button crapped on me, then I tried CVS2 and the left analog button seemed like uncalibrated. Then GT3, and couldnt work. Now I am looking for the stupid receipt and cant find it. I got it in Circuit City, and I've heard you can return it without problems.

You could open it up. clean it out, and make sure all of the buttons are seated correctly.

Yeah i believe in circut cities commercials they say that they keep the recipt types recods on the computer at the store. :D

Or he thinks it is his controller at least. He never checked those games with another controller. At least he never indicated he did so.

So, it could be either. :)

yea my controller is a pain too.. when im changing gears sometimes it will either do nothing or change two.. i thought at first that i cud just be screwed and accidentily pressing too quickly or sumthing so one time i sat there and changed gears and it jumped straight from 1st to 3rd when i pressed R1 slow as.

It is the controller. Anyways, I dont care anymore about it, I just threw the thing in the garbage can. Same as Virtua Fighter 4. I tell you... this game is not recommended to play with a ds2. The ds2 are just not made for fighting games, at least for VF4. The eight way dash is bad, controls are unresponsive, and using Akira is a pain in the butt. There is just one way to do all his moves, and if you miss it by a frame, the move doesnt work.

Right now, I am just using the other ds2 I have. See, the first time I bought my ps2, I got an extra ds2 cuz I knew one of them would get broken. And indeed it did, with GT3. Then I got another ds2, but this time, it came broken. The shoulder buttons would stick together after being pressed, then the x button no longer felt tight, like it was too soft to press. Then, the right digital button wouldnt work, unless pressed too hard, then why I did that, the left analog button got crazy and wouldnt stop moving on the screen. I just threw it to the garbage.

The idea about getting an extra ds2 was to use it if a relative came over to my house and wanted to play with it, but I dont get that many visits, so it doesnt matter. Now I am stuck with just one ds2 (the one it came with the ps2). I'll just get another controller If I get visited all of a sudden or this one gets broken (very unlikely).

Anyways, I have heard a lot of good things about the Madcatz Nyko Air Flow controller.

I've bought a couple O cheap DS2 look-a-like controllers. And while they might be 1/3rd of the price of an original DS2, they do work quite well... I can't remember the name but I can post it when I get home if anyone's interested... (One of them are in blue transparent plastic and I've soldered a blue led to each of the rumble engines. Looks the dogs balls when playing in a dark room)

Get a Microcon by Madcatz. Those little things own.

Are those things good, I saw them, and I like the small size, but I usually don't like to buy third party controllers, but if you guys have used them, and know they are good from experience, I think I might get one.
