Last night I had to go with my dad to help set up a book tent at our church's yearly festival. It was the most tedious, boring work ever, but the lady in charge said I could have some stuff for free, as "payment". I ended up finding in one stack of magazines 14 issues of Auto Week (the most recent being June 30th) and 6 Popular Mechanics/Science. I also found an Automatic Repair Manual for the Pontiac firebird from '82 through '92. I'd say this is a sweet find for doing next to nothing.

Eh...religious book festivals suck. When I was in sunday school, my temple made everyone come to the book festival for attendance. So I go in there with my dad, we sign the thing saying that I was there, and we left.

Last school year, I helped my academic lab teacher by organizing all of the National Geographics by year, starting from the 60's(though the full years started in the '80s). So I would flip through em and cut out the old car ads. I have a stack of em. Then at the end of the year, he wanted me to organize the NewsWeeks and Times, so I did that and got many Mazda ads out of it(cause I am trying to get as many as possible). I then went nuts, and started looking through all of the mags we have here. I found a hidden stack of Car and Drivers and Road and Tracks from the late '80s early '90s, and they had tons of Mazda ads.

I posted pics of my Mazda ad covered door a while back in the rumble stip...if you search you can find it.

What's with all of the speedo-shot avatars lately?

Perhaps I should bury the WRX some night and shoot that... ;)

I posted the full speedo pic first. But you did start the trend Gian.

When I get my new speedo for my bike I'll take a pic at highspeed too just for the hell of it.

That's not what most guys your age would be cutting out of National Gepgraphic...

What?!?!? Should we be cutting out pictures of women from the congo with a baby on one boob and the the other one sitting in her own lap?!?!? I don't think so.

Hah! I don't need pics of nude ugly poverty stricken people. No thank you.

I got a free subscription to Gamepro from Sprint...it was supposed to be 1 year...the dips(though good dips for me) there screwed up so I got like 2 years worth, ending this September.

The auto week, and popular science mags are pretty cool as for as the repair book like Jpec said, unless you have one,or know someone who does then its kind of worthless, but you should hang onto it anyway;or at least thats what I would do.

Yeah, that's one of those things that sounds like it was good for you the_cobbinator. I'd be less than impressed with those finds though.

Yeah the repair book is basically worthless to me as a repair manual, but it's fun to just look through it a learn some handy info. And my dad has a bunch of old Auto Weeks from when he was a racing fan so I thought I'd see what it was like now. There's some pretty sweet cars in there too.
