This happened today, I was surfing the web and, as always, I layed my chin down on the wheel (wheel it's on the PC desktop) and adopted a lazy posture and stayed there moving the wheel left and right with my chin just for the sake of it.

But this time I heard a crack, and it was the wheel, it broke in half, just the leather is holding the wheel together.

Is there anything I can do for it? Take the leather off and trying to repair it? Any ideas?

The red thing indicate where the cracks are.

There are a million billion g25 mods out there where you can replace the entire wheel with a proper racing wheel ect

Fair advice, but is there a simpler way? I really feel it could be repaired but don't wanna mess it up even more without pro guidance.

contact logitech, ask for a replacement, congratulations you get a free g27!

at least thats what I got when my shifter didnt work.

The wheel is like four years old, I don't think they would give me any support now.

Plus they already send me a new wheel when the first I bought stopped working like a month after purchasing.

This is a pic of the first wheel.

They made me destroy it and send picture proof that I really got rid of it before they could send me a new one:

Will that trick could be used again? Sayin I lost the ticket and bought it recently, give a friend's address and name since they got mine registered and that stuff.

.

I bet they will. I sold my G25 I bought almost 3 years ago to a friend and it broke on him last week. They sent him a new G27 for 100$ and all he has to do is send the broken G25 back to them. He could have got a G25, but instead decided to pay the extra 100$ to get the G27. The didn't ask for a reciept or anything.

Call logitech, they seem to have some pretty good customer service.

Hmmm, I might give it a try. Anyway, I will use friends ID and address, just in case. Because, as I said before, they already sent me a replacement (this one I broke).

Thanks, that really cheered me up. I hope it works.

They made you destroy the wheel and send photos? That's the weirdest thing i've ever heard. Why didn't they just tell you to send it back?

To save the shipping money maybe?

I was on the phone and the girl told me, it's ok we'll send you a new one as soon as posible, now destroy the wheel (and I was like WHAAAAAAAAAAT?) and put this pin number (she gave it to me) with your ID visible in the photo. Said and done, I've never had so much fun distroying a wheel lol

Thats gas that you had to destroy it!!!

Pity you didn't just break the paddles and steering motor unit as you would have had a spare wheel now :D

Just get an adapter and use a use a proper racing wheel. It makes the wheel feel much better.

Seriously, I got to agree, that does sounds like a pretty far fetched scenario OP, no judgement if it did happen to "break by other means", but come on, I don't think any one here can believe your chin broke your wheel. I'm always hitting my Xbox 360 Wireless wheel w/ my hand just for the sake of it or after losing a race or laying my elbow on it w/ force while browsing the webs, and I feel I could take a rubber mallet to it w/ decent force and not break it, and I highly doubt the Xbox 360 wheel is made any better than the G25 ;)

For w/e reason IT DID break however, I would hands down go for chilicoke's mod and get a bigger, better replacement wheel for more realism, I mean, sounds like a good opportunity, haha.

The whole being asked to destroy the wheel thing is the strangest thing I've heard in a while. It's not that I don't believe it, I just thought they would've wanted it back to salvage parts.
