I cannot connect to anyone online

Hey everyone, I am having a major problem getting into online lobbies. Every time I attempt to enter a room, i get either "The request has timed out" or "Failed to join room" or "the request was rejected due to network incompatibility (697)"
My NAT is type 2 and I have a 16Mbps download speed and 1.21Mbps upload speed with 13ms ping.
What can I do to help the situation?

Try network settings on your XMB menu and disable UPnP. This worked for me but there are numerous solutions over the internet or here at GTPlanet. Use the search bar to find threads about this problem.

Setting up a static IP and enabling DMZ mode on the router worked wonders for me.

So far, its the same thing i cannot connect to anyone at all.

In order of priority:

1. PS3 Static IP and DMZ (most important)

2. Instead of setting your PS3's Primary DNS and Secondary DNS to the same as your router (as in the above guide), change them to:
Primary DNS: 8.8.8.8
Secondary DNS 8.8.8.4

Also, rebooting the router or clearing the GT6 network cache can sometimes help.

3. Accept the fact the game is a pile of poo when it comes to online connectivity.

If Jag is getting far enough to attempt to enter a room, without noticing he's not signed in, then no.

Nope I've never hacked my GT6 data, nor do I know how to do so. I tried the guide that MGR posted and so far at least half the rooms I connect to work for me.
