I can't comment on my own thread?

When I try to update my forum, the site gives me an error saying that I don't have sufficient privileges to comment on the thread (which doesn't make sense because it's my own thread) or my account was disabled by an administrator/waiting to be activated; I've been on this site for five months, so it has to be active, right?

Anyway, how can I fix/get around this?

Yes, it does. I believe you need to check your email to see if a confirmation email has been sent to you, and click on the link. I think the email is sent automatically when you change your email address.
