Hi guys. My name is Brian and im from TN, USA. Ive been a member here for quit some time now but i have never posted anything before. Im trying to post in the GT5 section but it wont let me. Heres what it says:

gta_bird, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

1. Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
2. If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

If anyone can help, it would be appreciated. I also cannot find how to contact an administrator.

I found an article in one of my old magazines that was about polyphony digital and there crew and such. It has alot of interesting tid bits that that some/all may know or may not. It also contains the translators name in it. I my self dont care but i have seen it mentioned here many of times about what his name is. Anyways thank you.

Where can i find this description?
Why are the threads started by people that have less than 100 post? retroactive?
Is this all Forums or just the GT5 Forum?

And finally, what forum would i post these magazine scans in?

Thanks for the help.

Hey Brian, welecome, and thanks for your interest in sharing the article with the community. This minimum post limit was recently put in place a few months ago due to rapid growth of the forum and the influx of new users. Threads made by users with less than 100 posts before the new limit, of course, remained. The restriction is only in place for the GT5 forum.

If the article is specifically about an older GT game, please post it in the game's particular forum. If it's about GT5, post it up in the Rumble Strip and then notify me or one of the moderators of the situation and ask us to move the thread to the appropriate location.

So we have to post 100 times before we can make our own? thats stupid. im making a cockpit and want to share it

That belong in the Steering Wheels and Cockpits Section underneath the Console Gaming Sub-Forum. You can make a thread there, and it will actually be in the right spot. 👍

Damnit! Tree'd by Famine! Come on!

Look they were seconds apart!

If you want to see stupid, you should see what the GT5 forum would look like without that rule in place.

I remember 40-50 stupid topics almost daily? One of the best new rules I've seen on any forum!👍

And you've already made a thread. This one.

Slightly O/T, but I just noticed a quirk in the software: the user you just quoted has a post in this thread, but his post count lists 3 threads started, and 3 posts total. I imagine there was a thread deleted somewhere?

i can't post a comment or a reply to anyone when i'm looking at news and videos. It tells me to activate my forum account but i did already... i don't get it.

You need to have a post approved here on the forums before it will let you post on the news blogs. Unfortunately this particular Feedback board does not require approval so your post above won't count. Find something relevant and worthwhile to respond to here on one of the other boards, let that post work its way through the approval queue, and then you should be good to go. But it should be a decent post and not a timewaster because that would be unlikely to get approved.

Hey guys, couldn't find a thread about my problem. I just registered here, but now when I try to post (yes, I press the "Reply to post"- and the "Submit post"-buttons) normally, yet when I have pressed the latter one, it says "Your new thread has been sent to the moderators for approval", or something close to that. Wait - what? I don't want to start any new threads, just post replies. What am I doing wrong, or do you need a certain number of pre-moderated messages in order to post normally as a new member? Did not find any stickies or FAQ's about the subject.

Normally you would only have your first post approved, though you will be limited from creating new threads on the GT5 board only. However, you should be able to post normal replies since I have approved this post. If you still have trouble, please let us know again.

I didn't want to create a new topic for my post, just in case it is related to this topic but, I just found I can;t post on news items. I'm logged in, but each time I go to post a reply to a news story it asks me to sign-in or register. When I click sign-in it takes me to the forum (where I am auto-signed in) but when I go back to the news page I'm not signed in.

Does the news page require the same 100 post pre-limit as the GT5 forum?

No, it may have something to do with your cookies. What OS/browser are you using? Do you have any unusual security software or settings?

Using Windows XP PRO SP3 w/ Firefox 3.6
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.9.2) Gecko/20100115 Firefox/3.6 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729)

As for security software, I have run the same software since the day I installed this OS more than 3 years ago. Apart from regular OS and program updates nothing has changed.

I've deleted my cookies and had to re-sign in to access the forums but I still can't post replies on news items.

Hmmm. I assume you've cleared your browser's cache and refreshed the news blog page to be sure you are not seeing a cached copy? Are you accessing the site via a proxy server, which may be caching and returning an old version of the page? Check older blog posts, are you unable to comment on them as well? Do you also experience this in other web browsers, such as Chrome, Opera, or Internet Explorer?

Yep. Cleared everything (ticked every box in the clear history page in FF).
No Proxy.
Checked an older news post that I knew I already posted in. No change.

Tried Opera and DID successfully post on the Gillette news post.
Tried K-Meleon and CAN post.
Tried IE and CAN post.

Looks like it's just a problem with my FireFox install then. I might have to uninstall it completely and start fresh. Thanks for the help and sorry to bother you.

This has nothing to do with the OP..

But I just noticed a disturbing trend of people requesting that others start threads for them in the gt5 section

I believe the rule is there for a reason and hope this is being looked at, also pretty lame to find gt5 threads started in other places to 'get around' said rule.
