If I try to "Post Quick Reply", it hangs. If I "Go Advanced" it hangs. My post isn't all that many characters, so I don't understand why it's doing this (which has occured since about this time yesterday). I can post in other threads and forums with no problems.

As a test, I posted one character, and it worked. But I tried to edit it, and it froze up again. Go figure...

I checked the box to prevent green Kontera links (thanks for the tip, Jordan), but it's not that, apparently. Using IE and Firefox produced the same results, and deleting the cookie from each and re-logging in didn't help, it still hangs.

I'm banned from that thread, I suppose. :dunce:

Anyone else getting something like this?
 
Can you edit it now? I see you've made a longer post as of 1:25 this afternoon.

You're not banned from that thread, nor are you banned from anywhere in particular.

I wonder if it might be an ad that is hanging.
 
Just kidding about the banning, I wasn't serious. But it still hangs, and/or kicks me back to GTPlanet.net's homepage. I either have that ad blocked (non-Flash), or it's failing to appear. The page loading status says "Done".

I can post even longer posts in other forums, with no problems. But the length of my post seems to inncur the wrath of the Home Page every time it "sucessfully" passes the info along. Or it hangs.

Sorry for such a delayed response, pupik. Are you still having this problem? I'm unable to replicate it and cannot find any mention of a similar problem on the vBulletin support boards. :confused:
 
Not quite, it worked on everything else I posted in.

But it also seems that if you edit a very short post into a long-winded one, or vice-versa, it seems to freeze a little. If you modify a post slightly, say a sentence or paragraph at a time, it works much more effectively.

This seemed to be the case with both IE and Firefox (although I use FF 95% of the time).
 
Not that's interesting. I can't post much more than a few sentences in it. I posted a few sentences, but nothing more than that. I couldn't fathom a reason why I couldn't do post in there.

I'll try it again later today and see if size matters.

I view in 100 ppg, so that might have an effect.
 
I had exactly the same situation last tuesday when trying to post this new thread.
I had typed a rather long first post (took me more than one hour) but it wouldn't be saved : instead I was redirected to GTP main page.
I tried several times with the same result.

Then I copied the post and pasted it in Notepad, created a new thread, pasted the text and... same situation.

In the end I pasted the first paragraph only, saved the thread, then edited it to past all other paragraphs one by one (because a global paste wouldn't be saved either). I had to discard the final paragraph however, since there was no way I could save the edited post with that paragraph in.
 
This is an extremely strange problem and I can't seem to find many similar complaints on the vB support forums. Try using the default vB style, flat-out, to see if you can replicate the problem. Just use the selector at the bottom of the page.
