So to day I was at work and there was a car that was blocking access to a storage container. I was asked to move it, the car was a Ferrari 355 F1, I thought that it was going to be cool to be able to drive another Ferrari, even if I was only moving it about 50 feet. So I open the door and it was HOT inside from being in the sun all day long. It has metal paddle shifters and a little knob that lets you shift into reverse in and it is also metal but is a lot hotter. So I am thinking "I DO NOT want to back this thing in to the open spot and I want to get out of it asap because it is way to hot inside and the reverse knob is 120 degrees" I get in and pull into the spot. I thought that there is more room in front of me I move forward about 6" and BANG!!! 🤬 🤬 🤬 so I touch the 120 degree reverse knob and move back the 6" I moved forward and get out to see what I had done....🤬 🤬 🤬 now there are two white spot about 4.5'' long and 1.5 inches tall on the front bumper. I think about leaving it like it is and not saying anything and just going back to what I was doing (that thought lasted about 15 seconds) I park it like it should have been in the first place and go tell my boss. It just so happens that my boss is having a bad day, but the fact that I told him right way and didn't try and hide it he took it very well and just told me to be more careful and that he had had a few accidents before.

I will put up some pictures of the damage tomorrow.
and if you think that I made this up just tell me to wright something down on a piece of paper and I will put it in the same picture.

Well, lesson learned – don’t drive Ferraris! Wait, no, that’s not right…

[…] and that he had had a few antecedents before.
That’s a really funny typo. Okay, maybe to just me, because I always rat on people who use pronouns without antecedents.

That story made no sense whatsoever. I think you have heat stroke. Whose car was this?

What sort of job allows you to move Ferraris like that? Are you a valet?

And yes, I believe you meant accident. Only a slight difference.

Sorry about the spelling and grammar. Its been a long day and my head and hands are not working correctly.

All I did was scrape the fender on the curb, there wasn't much paint taken off of the car but a lot of paint came off of the curb.

I think that I might be able to be buffed out and I don't think that he would have me pay for it. Hell my dad backed a cobra kit car into the side of an old Thunderbird and he did have to pay for anything. The Thunderbird needed a new door that had to be painted and the cobra was well of either.

Well my job title is "Service Porter" I drive people to and from the shop, pick up parts, and clean the shop. I guess the job title "Shop Grunt" would be a better fit.

BTW THIS is where I work.

oh and I also got to drive and wash an NSX today, but is still a Honda (thought that you might like that Keef)

It is a customers car.

Well then maybe you can clean it up with some white spirits or something similar and it might look less noticeable.

Funny since 355 F1's have plastic shift paddles. Also they start in automatic mode unless you change it to manual mode.

By the by, reverse is a switch you flip, and not a knob.

Geez, the worst I did was scrape an LS 430 against a pole. Thankfully, it already had a scratched-up bumper, and it came out with a little polish and rag. Just don't tell the boos you're into the riftday, Diablomonkey.

By the way, do they need a service writer there?

Well done for owning up to the mistake to your boss. That took courage, but was by far the best course of action.

Considering he just told him to be more careful, I think he still has the job.

And well done to owning up Diablomonkey, it might have felt like the harder option to choose, but it was definitely the best.

Not that I know of.

Well the shift paddles sure felt and looked like they where metal, and it started in neutral and you had to shift into 1st or reverse.

Okay well the switch looked like a mini t-handle shifter.

Anyway here are the pictures of the damage.

In that last picture it looks like something like this has happened before.

You damaged a Ferrari, and all your boss said was "Be more careful?"

Dude, get me an application, now.

But in reality, if you were that nervous to drive a Ferrari, I hope you don't step into any TVRs soon.

Oh this actually happened? Crap, I was pretty sure this was entirely made up.

Is that what you'd call a 'Pranging Horse'?

I must admit, if I'd just done that to someone else's Ferrari, I'd probably have left the country. Kudos to you for telling your boss straight away, especially since he was already having a bad day!!

I remember when my friend pranged my Ferrari - I was mad, especially considering I had only had it for 2 days! My mate had stayed over after a night out in Glasgow, and the next morning I was showing him my new purchase. Unfortunately, he didn't realise that it was no longer screwed to the base and when he picked it up to have a closer look, he tilted it and the car slid off the base and fell to the floor, seriously damaging the rear wing :indiff:

You were let off pretty easy.

If I were working down at the large local Honda dealer, and damaged an NSX like so, I would have got the boot!

I guess this tells you just to be a little more careful next time... At least you owed up right away, as things can be worse if you didn't.

OK just to clear things up with you MistaX, I talked to the Ferrari tech and he said that the 355 F1's either has metal paddle shifters with some kind of rubber coating on them or they have carbon fiber paddles and he has even seen the metal ones break. So there is no way that they would have plastic paddle shifters, and come on I mean its a Ferrari, do you rely think that they would put plastic paddle shifters on them? I was also told that all of the "automatics" start in neutral, also they aren't a full "automatic", it has a clutch and you have to rev the engine and then the gear will engage. The easiest way that I can describe what it is like is to say that it has something similar to a centrifugal clutch but I could be way off with that.

Good as new. Now, after all that, the owner will total it on the way home.

What would be your true reaction if Diablomonkey found out that the owner did total it on his way home?
