there was a thread on the power differnce between prize cars and lot cars. i think the overall verdict was that cars you buy end up having more bhp than those you win after so many miles.

Actually, both prize cars and bought cars have the same amount of ultimate horsepower. This number is the same for both bought and prize cars, it's just immediately available on prize cars.

The difference is that prize cars come with the "broken-in" horsepower number even at zero miles, whereas bought cars come with the base stock number and improve as they are run in over the first couple hundred miles.

Buy a Yellow, Black, White or Red Lotus Esprit V8 SE. Do it up to around 580hp and it will beat many race cars if you know how to exploit it's rear weight bias. If you are someone who doesnt have the driving style that works with a rear weight bias car, then dont get it. Some people will never master these cars.


I would never buy a race car. They are easy to win, and way to expensive.


If you buy the Panoz, which is probably the worst race car in the game, for 2 million cr. I will laugh my ass off.


PS, if you like the Panoz and the GT40, you wont be able to drive the Esprit. The Esprit and RGT type cars are tuned for drivers with a completely opposite style than people who like to drive the GT40, Panoz.

I haven't driven either but shouldn't the gt40 drive similarly to the lotus esprit as they are both mr vehicles? And could you please explain this exploit with rear biased cars 12 sec.?

Ihave a red Lotus esprit with about 440 hp (yes, not any more ) and if you are asking me that it accelerates pretty well. From 0kph (0 mph ) to 100 kph (62mph) takes about 4 seconds. It's awesome in some races! Inwincible!

I think you should wait till you raise 300,000 More creds. Then buy the Raybrig NSX GT, and tune it, and basically if you ask me you cant go wrong !

You caouls also boy most of the Race Cars, either the Raybrig NSX, or you should buy the Castrol Supra. The NSX has a little beter handling, due to not having a Turbo causing rapid oversteer, so if you buy it, and ur not too experienced, just take care in tight corners.

Esprit > GT40.
it (the Esprti) handles much better per pony, but i believe the GT40 has a higher top end. the Esprit has a tandency to oversteer as well, but that can be worked out.
