I got a penalty for obeying the rules

I played GT7 daily race c this morning and the requirement was hard and soft tyre but no minimum pit stops. I then went to the hard tyre from the start and completed the race without making a pit stop as there was non stated to be made and after the race I got a penalty. Why was this when there was no minimum pit stops

If you have 2 required tyre compounds, how do you switch if you don't pit ?

You have to use both compounds.
 
I know it’s a bit vague when they say “no mandatory pitstop”, but do list two different tires to be used… Which basically means the IS a mandatory pitstop.
It’s been like this from the beginning, so I’m not holding my breath for PD to patch this to make it more clear for the players.
 
You got the penalty because two different types of tyre are required and you didn't use one of them.

A mandatory stop is a different regulation. It requires you to make a stop during the race, whether you change tyres/add fuel or not.
 
Would be so funny if Polyphony allowed RH in the front and RM in the back in Daily races to obey the rule without the pitstop and didn't tell anyone. :D
