Well, we (2 friends and I) would be more correct.

Today I went down to the Woronora River with some friends to have a little barbie and have a nice day out. It was a fun day, etc etc. Now to get down to the river we had to go down a bush path area which is pretty rocky. As my friends and I were walking up this track, a man jumped out about 10m away from us and screamed, "OI COME HERE!"
Now he obviously didn't notice my friend had his huge German Shepherd with him which promptly scared the crap out of this weirdo and he ran into the bushes. And you may ask, how did I know he was a pedo? Well he was around 40 years old, hanging around in the bushes near an area where children often go to hang out, also he had a very suss look about him.
So anyway, after running into the bushes one of my friends went back there with the dog and pocket knife to threaten this guy (he was pretty crazy and I sure as hell didn't want to go near him) which made him go back down on some other path. We got out of there, and we're definitely going to report this to the police. We would have had a machete with us but one of our other friends left about 10 minutes before we did.

This has really spooked me...and I wonder if you guys have had any weird experiences like this before (ok it's not that major but for someone like me this is huge).

Definitely report it to the police, although they probably won't do much. Whether he's a pedo is hard to decide. He may just be looking to mug someone if younger people hang around there. Did you get a good look at him? Could you give an accurate description?

wouldn't a pedophile want to use more subtle methods to approach someone?

in the flat were i grew up we had such a strange 70 year old, who would jump out of the bushes and scream, when i played in the garden. he had some kind of sickness i suppose and tried to scare me very often, but he was no pedophile, i always felt kinda sorry for him.

Why does michael jackson like 38 year olds ?¿
Because there`s 30 of them :)

What the hell? Can we please, for five consecutive seconds, NOT talk about Michael Jackson? He doesn't have to be brought into every conversation.

As for the crazy bush guy, I've never heard of a pedophile who jumps out of the bushes and scares people. Most often they would probably try to lure children away on their own, not frighten them and risk having them run away. It sounds more likely that he was a mugger or just plain crazy.

By the way, going after someone with a knife to "threaten" them is probably not a wise idea, nor is carrying a machete around anywhere except on your own property. Don't try to be a vigilante, and tell your big-balls friend the same thing; if this guy was in fact a mugger, he might have a real weapon, like a gun. And I hear those can sting if you get shot in the face with one.

Perhaps he was just lookin for some 'thugs' and is scared of dogs (I hate alsations anyway.)?

Yeah the guy could be a pedo, but you kind of jumped to that conclusion abit fast.

Well Anderton Prime, he is the one who had more chance of jumping into an armed person than the opposite; HE didn't think clear enough to consider THIS to happen, so that doesn't mean YOU have to be carefull about it.

If you were a pedo, YOU, repeat, YOU never know WHAT some guy might have got hidden in his shoe:confused:

I'm sorry that's not even right to be joking about somthing like this.

About what? What if if that was the case? Noone knows what he was doing there. He might have just been beaten the crap out of by some thugs and crying for their help.

But most likely it was some weirdo.

Many years ago (I was in 6th or 7th) while waiting for a bus, a young man walked by us and flashed a GIGANTIC double handful of silver coins. Then went around the building to wait for one of us to follow him.
We knew he was waiting because he was still there when we passed him on the bus.
I assume that he was not from the local Boys/Girls club.

But I believe that people preying on children use "lures" or grab them unawares. But it would be unusual for a pedo to jump out and announce himself.
You may have wrongly judged this person.

If anything, it was some guy who said to his buddies, "Watch me scare the crap out of those kids over there."

I've been followed by a pedo before. I was about 12, and at Target, looking at some miniature fish (my mom was shopping elsewhere in the store). This guy comes up to me (very haphazardly dressed, unshaven), starts talking to me… I assume he's just a friendly guy, then as I'm walking through the store, he runs across me again, and starts following me and talking to me, asking why I'm not in school that day (it was a half day), and offering to buy me lunch. I can't remember exactly how I got away, but I think he got distracted by something on a shelf, and so I quickly walked down an aisle and made several sharp turns, then ran across to the other side of the store where I knew my mom was.

Creepy-ass people. 👎

Similar thing has happened to my kid brother years ago. In the local department store, some guy grabbed him, when my mom was in the bathroom. This guy with my brother(I think he was 9,10 at the time) was just few feet from the fire exit, when my mom came out of the bathroom. This freak ran off and the security never caught him. Everytime I hear about an child abduction, I wonder how badly it could have turned for my brother. As far as I'm concerned, all pedophiles should be shot. They are the lowest form of scum.

:raiseshandtosecond:

Preying on others is evil. Preying on those who are too weak to or dont know to defend themselves just brings it to a lower level.

:edit: wow the letter E eluded me in this post.

I don't know of many 11 or 12-year olds who carry concealed weapons in their shoes. The guy was most likely crazy, and that's the end of it. Stop classifying all weirdos as pedophiles.

No I didn't mean to say he definatly was a pedo, it's just IF he was, HE should be able to understand that HE would be in danger if HE runs in to someone else than a kid, and that was exactly what happened here, although we don't know IF he was a pedo.

No I understand what your saying, he might just have been a freak that jumps out of bushes every day or something:lol: But it's not like he isn't dangerous anymore then, I still don't trust people who are totally crazy:crazy:.

Anyone ever thought that perhaps he was just a special-needs (no jokes please) guy who was scared of dogs?

I was followed by a guy in a shop before. But I was wearing a hoody (it was cold) in game, so that probably explains it. :dopey:

I understand that alot of people have heared of people going missing and such. And some of you may even have experiences of it, but some of you are just way too fast to lable someone who acts 'different'.

What are you going to say when you're a grown adult?

It doesn't immediatly say he's totally crazy, it just gets your attention and gets you thinking about that possibility of him being crazy or more. And if he wasn't crazy of some sort, I presume he would have had a VERY good reason for jumping out of those bushes:irked: And I think he can't have..

But this doesn't prove anything:tup:

A couple of years ago I went to the cinema with my best mate and his family. As we were walking down the centre towards the seats I sensed this guy walking very close to me but I thought he wasn't doing it intentionally. Then he sat down in the seat directly behind me. He stunk of alcohol. About halfway through the film this guy starts stroking the back of my neck...I know that if this had happened to me today (I was 12 then I think, now I'm 15) I would've got up, turned around and walloped the guy but for some reason I sat there and watched the film. Luckily my mate's dad spotted him and told me to move, when the guy moved to sit behind my mate his mum went and got the staff and they kicked him out.

The cinema gave us some free stuff and I guess they should've spotted that he was drunk and not let him in. Once again, I have no idea to this day why I didn't move or say anything while this freak was doing this but if I was frozen to my seat by this then I hate to think how easy it would be for guys like him to do something worse to someone younger or more vulnerable.

I haven't shared this story with many people but I guess the thread just brought it back.

I it's understandeable you just frozen, I guess the best thing to do is turn around and tell him loudly so everybody hears it, to stop that:O:lol: NO I think you did the right thing:tup: although you just frozen.......
