Ive been playing gta vice city for a while and just recently it started to glitch real bad. it all started after i let my friend borrow it. he said his ps2 was broken and i said well that sux. but he said it worked fine until he put my disk in. so i got it back from him and tried it on my ps2 and i said theres nothing wrong with it but the more i played the worse it got. slowly it started to get bad like if i pressed pause it would take like 20 mins for the pause menu to come up, and every thing thats like um......foreground got bad like the yellow line on the road just went blurry then 5mins later things like a garage door became blurry sorta like the buildings that are non interactive (as though it was background stuff) and after that it would freeze and say loading and below that in tiny writting it said error reading vice city dvd. why it said dvd i dont know, but i think this all might have to do with my codebreaker(like a gameshark)or it could be my disk but there are no scratches the a worse than normal scratches so can anyone tell me wuts causing the glitch?

Its not gameshark. Or Codebreaker. Its your copy of Vice City, I dont think your PS2 could be causing the problem. There is a possiblity that your PS2 is bad. try cleaning the disk and get a PS2 lens cleaner. :)

The reason that it said DVD, is because Games like Vice City are DVD roms, all of the ones that don't have the purple bottoms are DVD-Roms.

That sounds like the famous "vice city loading error" problem, common on most 4th gen (scps-30000-blah) PS2s. It happens because the disc, or lens is dirty...you should open up the PS2 and clean the lens. (If this is the problem, you get funny clicky noises from inside the PS2 when it is reading disc - lens trying to move so that it can read the data properly)

I had the same problem.

Sadly, Mine is the same way. I cleaned the lense 2 weeks ago so it isnt that. Its either A.) the PS2 or B.) your game

Vice City is a game that has to load alot so it could be the PS2. (i think) But then again, on mine there is 1 very tiny scratch and it looks like it might be just deep enuff so it wont work. But i get a new PS2 in about 2-5 weeks for free.( has something to do with my parents business, IDK)
