I hate Spyware

I really hate spyware.... So lets make a thread with links to many different awesome spyware removal tools. My computer got infected today and Spybot, and adaware wouldn't work. so I found a new tool called spyware doctor. It really helped, it is extremely comprehensive, and thurough(sp?) and it cleared the problem up. it is free and is on download.com, so anyone else got any awesome tools to get rid of this annoying as hell problem?

I updated my Spybot S&D this morning and realized that it found 2 new objects, that my older version couldn't find 5 minutes ago. This included a freewebs.com cookie in Firefox.

this infection i had on there was cancelling out spybot for some reason, because spybot would always stop responding when it got to the infection.

For these more severe ones, I run the scan through Safe Mode. Nothing gets in the way and the scans run faster and more efficiently. All the computers where I work were infected like this. It was a major pain in the ass to get them out 👎

Those are about all that I bother to use.

That's basically all that's needed. Maybe add CWS Shredder in there for highjacked browsers.

System Restore is the root of waaay too many Windows problems. I have it disabled

I'm using Microsoft's Anti-Spyware Beta at the moment (find it on Google). So far, it's the very best I've used on my father's hapless computer.

That's the one I use to double check Spybot, and Adaware.

It does nothing other than spot the infections. The scan is free, and it gives you links to manually locate and remove the infections.

If you want to shell out the cash, it will do the automatic removal.

Hijack this is only good if you know what your looking for but yeah it's awesome. Although I ditched AdAware as it's scanning Engine tended to die on some machines I used it on. Although they have probably fixed that by now.

I just use Adaware. All I ever get is tracing cookies, which aren't very high on the priority list anyway. Spyware isn't so bad if you know what and what not to install...

MS Anti-spyware hasn't turned up anything in the past 3 weeks on my computer.

I'm using Microsoft's Anti-Spyware Beta at the moment (find it on Google).
