I have a question about Google SketchUP...

I am using Google SketchUp 8, and I found that whenever I made a closed shape it automatically filled the shape in. I was thinking how annoying that is, and if there was a way to get rid of the fill-in without having to delete the shape itself.

Click on the centre part, and press the 'Delete' button on your keyboard. Then the shape will be there, but it won't be filled in.
