This has been bugging me for quite some time.
When a person is banned, how does a mod that isn't the mod that banned them right their BUL entry?

They throw papers with their name on it into a hat, pick one out and that Mod/Admin will post something into the BUL.

J/K. I think the members of staff first have a "meeting" about a member up for the banhammer. Unless you are clearly on the wrong side of the AUP. Then the hammer will come fast and firm. Or a bullet, when it's T-12.

I'm surprised that T-12 actually knows how to ban people, with deleting whole threads accidentally :sly:

He just recently made a blog post.
I was surprised, I didn't think that S-Mods could make blog posts.

Not all of us can; only those with specific blog permissions can. To my knowledge, that'd be Jordan, Famine, T-12, Sphinx, and I. The first two posting most often, with T-12 picking up quickly (since he already single-handedly takes care of the feed at Forza Planet). Sphinx has posted a few OLR blog entries (and I believe Hydro has too, come to think of it), and I used to post Photomode updates regularly.

As for the original question: easy, we just do. Since the BUL isn't required to be filled out, not all of us update it, nor do we for every ban. It's just a matter of who feels the need at the time 👍

This one time, I saw him come into a thread to yell at people, only to forget what he was yelling at them for before the end of his post. He's like the crotchety old man of the moderation staff.

Yeah, but he's our crotchety old man.

As Slip already pointed out, updating the BUL isn't in any way necessary for the staff. As such, most of the time, the mod that gave the infraction will be the one to update the log but anyone certainly can. Or not at all.

I was asking this because when I was banned (By Famine) it said that my BUL entry was made by, uh, you TB.
I thought that was a bit weird.

If it makes you feel any better, I don't remember writing it (although looking at the edit history, it appears that I did...)

Regardless, my previous comment still stands.

Well, ask Jordan if you can became a super mod, ban a member and you'll have your answer. :p

Whoever was last to edit a single post has their name in green at the bottom. It's that simple.

And he might have been editing someone else e.g. adding a new, banned, username to a previously banned member.
