I bought my first Genesis when I was 14 (im 28 now). When the sega CD came out (I think 2 years later)I attached that to the Genesis to play the Sega CD games. After playing it for several years I gave it to my dad. A few years after that it went to my brother (age 15) and stayed there for many years. After he enjoyed it for a while it went to my sister(age 14). She had it for a while and I get a call on the phone asking if I would like it back again. I have a few fun games for it like Lethal Enforcers, sewer shark, Mad Dog McCree and a few others.
It just amazes me that the systems still works after all these years!!!Never a single problem either. Im not sure what I will do with it. Play it, sell it. Not sure.

Keep it... "Probably less than 50 bucks" vs. "Memories of your childhood and some hours of fun"

I might actually plug it in one of these days and play some Lethal enforcers with Heather. We will probably get bored quick but it will be worth at least a try.

It seems some of the older consoles or computers last longer then some of the newer consoles and computers.

Seriously! My N64 is in better condition then my Gamecube, Xbox, and of coarse my PS2

Damn, I thought Peter Gabriel had rejoined the band for a minute there :irked: :boggled: :sly:

Definitely keep it... don't even think about selling it... I sold my Commodore 64 to my best mate when I got an Atari ST - even though it finally packed it a couple of years later, he still has it to this day, and now considers it a treasured heirloom (even though it was my flippin' computer...) I even nearly bought one on eBay just so that I could have a treasured heirloom too...

If there is no problem with it, then by all means keep it, get ahold of all the EA '94 sports titles, and go to town. I still have a Genesis (my wife's actually) and play from time to time. Mostly for memories, but realisticaly just because. If anything, go to your local Rhino/GameStop/EB and pick up titles you could not afford 14 years ago, makes the time spent worth while. Then again, I still have the receipt out of toys r us showing a purchase price of $60 for Mortal Kombat (not bragging, more a mark of "had to have it"), the real reason I bought a Genesis over the SNES.

Definitely. My PS2 is the first console I've ever had that has gotten tired and old -- my disc drive makes funny noises while spinning and sometimes takes an extra 1-2 minutes to load, PS2 CDs (the blue discs) often won't work at all, and if I plug my DFP into the player-1 USB slot (the one on the top), it shorts out the system and the PS2 shuts off.

Recently, I dragged my old NES out of the attic for some fun. Expecting trouble, I was prepared to employ my classic tricks to try and get the game running, but to my surprise, Mario loaded up correctly the first time! :scared:
My Genesis, SNES, and N64 also still work just fine.

I have the original Super Nintendo that might be even older. It was originally my kid brother's, I either bought it or traded for it. I had the Super Famicom(Japanese SNES) too, but I sold that one on eBay. My favorite golf game(Jumbo Ozaki's "Hole In One") and favorite RPG(Dragon Quest V) plays on SNES, so I'd sell my PS2, GameCube or Dreamcast before I'd sell my SNES. :D

I still have my original genesis and my 16-bit. Both work.

I still have my NES and the arcade joystick, with a copy of Xevious. Lots of fun.

I have a cable that came with my Amiga 500 that allows me to run my Megadrive/Genesis through a composite/rca equipped TV. I drag the oldies out once every couple of years to play with the likes of Columns or Starfox on snes. I have the Sega Ages version of Columns, though it somehow lacks the magic vibe…

Anyone else have a Saturn? That was a cool machine, PSX kind of killed it though.
Having decided on a playstation rather than the Saturn, I found little reason to shell out for the Sega console during the 90’s. That all changed in 2000 when I went into one of those "$2" cheapie shops, only to find that they were selling brand new German market Saturns for $30 AUD. I don’t own any games for it as of yet, though it gives me a satisfying feeling thinking about it tucked up in closet.

Well, the thing is that i bought a second hand saturn in 1997 because i couldn't afford a PSX, it was pretty good but when i did eventually get a PSX in 2002 i realised what i'd been missing out on. Then i got my PS2 in early 2003.
