Ive been having issues updating for so long, every time i try to update the system tells me I dont have enough space (i have 14GB in my hard drive that is Free!) every single damn time i get this,it makes no sense. The thing is i did a mistake and deleted my game data back in maybe late oct early Nov (i do have my game file) i just deleted whatever game data was inside and I started from square 1 the very 1st version of the game when it was released.I have no idea what to do next, ive been dying to start my game file and play with my G27 :(

I went ahead and deleted a few more games and it started updating! this is bonkers....i deleted about 1-1.5gigs for a total of 15GB that was free on my hard drive, this is crazy...the game needed THAT much freakin space???? i thought 13-14GB would be enough.

It sounds like your PS3 is full up. 14G left on a modern drive of any sort used in PS3 reserves (imo) too little space for temporary, ancillary files used during the update process and underlying maintenance actions. I'd consider purging some other things so you have plenty of room for future updates.

I may not reflect the average gamer's setup, since the only program I have installed on the hard drive is GT, but I have yet to experience any issues updating (with the singular exception of one update a long ways back that was a known issue for most players due to a poorly constructed update process, one that even PDI admitted was their fault.), so I suspect you just have way too much clutter on your PS3's drive and need to make some hard decisions about your storage of various games, videos, or whatever else is filling it to the brim.

good luck.
