I HAVE radioheads new album :DMusic

So I got a scene rip from Radiohead's new Hail to the thief. 192 CBR and all. I must say it is very good. combining the weird and fantastic sounds of kid A and Amnesiac with a sound more likely to be found on OK Computer, and some strenght on the music, surprisingly. 2 + 2 = 5 (1st song) has a very cool and energetic (for radiohead, that is) guitar. The melancholy Radiohead used to use on their latest albums is there, but it has some more energy now, and the electronic sounds of the bands previous albums back up guitars now. melancholic guitars at that. and Yorke's Voice is now more energetic too, but wthout loosing the (you guessed) melancholly (dont even know if Im typing mellancholy well ¬¬U). very good album, its my second time listening to it. will say something else later. as of now, look for that song I mentioned. 2 + 2 = 5.

yeah, I noticed you posted it on the "what you listen" thread some nites ago... I was surprised to find another member that had it ^-^

I liked very much 2 + 2 = 5... I dont know, some time ago that Radiohead had good guitars on their songs... I have listened to it just two or three times, but I must say all the album is very good. I have to listen to it again and again so I can really tell you what do I think of it.

I love radiohead, I'm gonna have to get a copy of that, I can't wait until june or july for the album to come out.
 
I haven't heard the whole thing yet, but from what I've heard.......it sounds pretty good. Time permitting, expect a full review.

The band is apparently extremely ticked off that this copy got leaked, because it's nowhere near a final mix. Contacts or not it's been spread around, and they are not happy about it.

Thats what I've heard too. I'm just happy to see some new material from them.
 
I would imagine that heads are going to role from this one.....

The one I have has a very finished sound to it. But from what I hear they still might remix a few songs and add/remove a few others.
 
Managed to sniff around and get a copy (actually, it's grinding away on the PS2 as I type this).

Yorke's voice - man, it's just something else....
 
As I said someday, I like radiohead, but I think there are way better bands out there. I dont think they are "just someting else"... just a good band. that's all.

If I were them, I wouldn't be too concerned. Pissed, yeah, but really pissed? No; why? It's not a good bitrate. If it were a 1411kb/s .wav file, then I'd be upset!

Have you heard the new 192hz, 24-bit syquest A/D converters? It's a most amazing thing. Too bad it will be years before that kind of resolution and sample rate will be available on the consumer market.

Nahhh, wait, did you say 24bit:eek:??? CD's are only 16-bit! What would it be like, DVD-Audio?
 
Well currently we can record using floating 32-bit resolution. But the syquest converters at 192khz is the increadable part.

Take audio CD's of 16-bit, 44.1 khz, in my studio today, we're creating wav files that are 24-bit, 48khz. These syquest converters record at 192khz. Pretty amazing really..

It makes 16-bit wav sound files sound like 128kb mp3's. It's all relative.

So how do they fare in contrast to DVD-Audio disks? Do DVD-A use that bitrate?
 
DVD-Audio is (from what I've heard) 24-bit 48khz. The sample rates are still lower and less accurate than the higher 192khz sample rates.
