Well - Not literally, but a wheel connected to a PS2 running GT4 ;)

Do you think that made waiting to april easier ?....

Anyway - The quick and dirty report.. The graphics are awesome. One thing I noticed when another guy was playings was (He was driving a 240Z btw.) The shadows, not just at the ground, but at the rear of the car changes depending on how the car's aligned with the sun. With the sun from the rear, you can see all the little details modelled into the rear of the car. When the sun's in front, you can hardly see any details... (Btw. Those little screwholes where the fenderflares are attached to the body - they are visible.. Nice attention to detail..)

Cita de Aria... Insane track... I can't see 2 cars racing on that one. It's so damn tight it reminded me of being born.. Stunning though. Absolutely.... Did it in an old Alfa... (you know, when in Rome right ? ;) )

Anyway - Got 15-20 2-lap seatings, and this WILL be like the second coming or something :D And a nice selection of cars in the demo. The Stingray Vette, 1989 Supra (2.5 TT), 60's Alfa, 1600 Alpine, Fairlady 240Z...

Lucky bastard. I hate you.

Nope.. Afraid not.. Couldn't steal the disc either... All enslosures we're locked up :grumpy:

Edit: Although - At that long rallytrack I saw NO mocving spectators.. They looked just as cardboard like as in GT3....

If you were to review the graphics, what score would you give it? Were they photorealistic like the pics that are posted here? Man you are lucky, I want to try out the new wheel so bad. Did you see any new cars?

It looked BALLS.. Not Photorealistic by any means, but a HUGE step up from GT3... BUT - This must be seen in the light of, me suspecting the TV it was hooked up to, not be the best in its class. 2. Them having hooked it up with composite. The difference on my TV when having it hooked by SVHS instead of composite is like night and day...

And with them (PD) having a four more months to polish the **** out of the engine, God knows what it'll look like then...

It wasn't the new 900 degree wheel. Just your basic Logitech FF wheel... Still nice with a cool Cobra bucket seat to rest your bottom in ;)

GT4 on my tv will look amazing. My WEGA plays all of my games in high-res, best tv to play your games on.

(not so) Funny thing.. We have a 28" Bang & Olufsen in the livingroom. With SVHS connection to the PS2 it looks as good as it gets. The B&O is probably around 10 years old. In the bedroom we have the most expensive 21" Panasonic money will buy (not including TFT). Odd thing is, No matter how I connect the PS2, it still looks like ****e :odd: .. And it's only 1 year old.

I'm telling you, the WEGA is the best for ps2 games in terms of looks. I also have a S-video, that's good for making your ps2 games look amazing and high-res, it doesn't matter if your TV is 1 year old, if you don't have a top quailty one the games won't look so hot.

You should see how amazing gt3 looks on my tv, just amazing.

Any WEGA will play your ps2 game in high-res, even the 19" ones will make your games look amazing. Think about it, sony makes WEGA and ps2 games look good on them. I'm telling you all, a WEGA really shows how amazing a ps2 game looks. I sound like a commerical lol

Your Panasonic sounds like it's an LCD, is it? They make for lousy TV sets. When I was shopping for a HDTV set two years ago, they looked just horrible.

I ended up with a Sony Trinitron Wega XBR HD set. Component connenction is the only connenction for the PS2, IMO. It is soo much better than s-video, it's not even funny.

No.. That didn't come out right (from my side).. It is a Tubed TV, so there's no blaming it on an bad LCD...

I like Sony.. A LOT !...

Playing it like you described for me, makes me want it more, because I had played it the same manner as you, m8, and I still cant wait for it to come...

I use the standard PS2 cables thru the crappy PS2 Scart socket on our 28" widescreen JVC tv, still gets quite a lot of the 'waving effect' often wondered about buying a Blaze scart lead but heard its probably not worth bothering with :(

PD better give GT4 a 60hz mode for europe release gahhhh, burnout is crap in 50hz mode makes so much difference when its in 60hz (& they actually bothered to do for EU unlike PD)

That's a good question. Was the demo you played the latest build?

T5-R

Go For The Scart Cable-Miles Better than Standard Rubbish youll get with the standard lead, which is technically nothing more than an RF cable with audio connectors connected through a scart adaptor,(and RF Is the worst Connection you can have, True Scart Is the Best),well worth the £cash.
Clarity is Everything.

I sometime Run Mine On My New 36inch Phillips Widescreen 100hz With Pixel Plus Enhance with a Scart Through the RGB.

The Picture Is So Damn Crisp! And The Tv Has Awesome Sound capability even without my Old 5.1 Sytem.

Moved The Old Set an 8 year Old Phillips 28 inch Matchline with 100hz Upstairs (The PS2 day to day home) And The Picture On that is at least twice as Sharp as the old Bush 26 inch it replaces.

100hz and RGB Scart connection cant be beat for clarity IMO.
And Im Very fussy About these sort of things.

The spectators in GT3 are animated Gifs; they do move, but it's very jerky and unrealistic (unless you're blasting past them at around 120 MPH...)

Ordered a Joytech scart cable, only £7 just hope it will work on TV speakers and doesn't rely on a hifi setup since I don't have one downstairs (where big tv is).

After all even if you hook it up to a hifi it'd be a waste not to use TV speakers :)

Why do sony feel the need to hand out bloody rf cables...cheap skates.
