I never really seen anyone talk about the sounds of the game!

IMO, I think the car engine sounds of GT3 sounds like crap, every car sounds like a jet turbine engine (if you have a home entertainment system, you might know what i mean) In GT2 the cars sound great, like the GT40 and the Speed 12. Im hoping the car engine sound in GT4 will sound a lot better than it did in GT3.


What do you guys think?

The sounds in GT4 will be the same, because improving the sounds for it, compared to GT3, would require hardware upgrades.

I think they did a great job with the sounds. Sure, they can be better, but compare GT3 to GT2 when it comes to sounds a you'll see the clear winner.

They'll be the same? Nah, i must disagree....because in some reports "rumors" they have talked about testing the cars of gt4 and recording there sounds. But I could be wrong.

Yes, you are wrong. They made those recordings for future GT game titles, and for future PS machines. They were making an archive before some of the cars don't exist anymore, that's all.

Why would they record them for future games when they have a new one coming out...Don't ya think they would use them for the new game..I sure do. As I said before I could be wrong...But intill I still reports from PD I'm not gonna say that they will or won't have these new sounds. Off to bed I go, getting to late for me.

GT2 wins easily

go take out a supra fully modded in gt2 and compared to a gt3 supra....

whos the winner now hen? GT2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

no cars sounds the same in gt2 NO ONE!!!!!!! even the gt350 and the gt500 doesnt sound the same!!!

That is fine in all, but what about the other sounds like tires squealing, wind noise, suspension noises and most important, gear box sounds. You are only looking at a small part of the sounds on GT3. Did you consider for a moment the rest of the sounds? You can't judge a game's sound by the sound of just a few items. You have to judge it on the overall presentation of sounds.

When you do that, GT3 wins, hands down.
Currently, the PS2 does not have the hardware to recreate the exact sounds of a car's engine sounds. So, therefore, the recordings PD made of all those cars some time ago was most likely for GT5 which will be a launch title for the PS3, which is rumored to come out in late 2005.

but why did the psx then had the hardware to make magnificent exahust sounds and clutch sound and most of all breath taking turbo sounds?!?!?!??! i mean i have the surround systeme but i switched it off one day and i tried gt2....even though i didnt have the surround system it still sounded so good!!! i took a gt350 to the test course and start in 4th gear....dammmm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the whole house was shaking!!!! everything was shaking! can u imagine the effect than this would have with the surround system?
