Well I'm almost done wrapping up Professional and only have the 2-heat championship left to race. I have hit a wall. These guys are brutal with a capital B. I honestly need one more lap. 3 just ain't gonna get it. It's on Hockenheim and it's ultra tough. My only other option is to give my impersonation of a lawn mower and start cutting grass if you know what I mean. ;) They wont give an inch in the turns.

Don't know if it's gonna be like this for everyone but be warned it's gonna be a rough one when you get there.

It's not like you have to win every single race.

I do, yes I DO!!
lol, I think I do have to win this one though to get past it, I'm not sure about championship races. In any case I think I'm with you on this one man. I might have to just get what I get and move on. I've put WAAAY too much time in this one race. Might just have to come back to this one somewhere down the line.

oh crap, im not looking forward to this.

Trust me, you definitely aren't. Like I said though, each user may have different experiences since it's supposed to be dynamic but if you get what I get look out.

Heres to hoping my slow ummm rear makes them not so brutal...im not holding my breath though

Oh boy, so far I haven't had problems yet, but I only just finished Semi-Pro. This is gonna be fun -_-

It's a whole different level of WTF when you get there. You need more than 3 laps for this race though. That's my problem with the race though. 3 just ain't gonna get it, for me in this race. And mind you I gotta do 2 heats of this.

Hate to double post but quick update so no one is misled. It's not the expert level, it's the professional level. I forgot I had completed expert and was on professional.

Reminds me when I was racing at Silverstone with R3 cars. No matter, how much I tried, the first two cars could always pull a 4 second gap on me. Didn't help that I was always stuck behind slower cars, and if that wasn't the case, it was my driving.

One corner, I braked way too late, and decided, I'll just cut through the grass, expecting a magical slow down spot, or come out loosing a position or two, but I didn't. Pretty much got a 2 second lead out of that, but my bad driving, made then catch right back up. Still managed to win after about 30 minutes of rage restarting. The second heat was a lot easier though.

I'm gonna be totally honest, I don't play nice with the AI. I get pretty rough so I haven't had a lot of troubles yet.

Yeah... But the AI doesn't make it easy for you to play nice, either. They're fine when they're by themselves, but if you run into a pack of AI cars, there's a distinct chance to get sandwitched, rear ended or brake checked.

It's especially annoying if you're tailing an AI car and set yourself up for the pass, only to see their brake lights flash at the most inapropriate places. M. Rossi has been doing this in more than just a few races, that little sucker... This also causes me to cut the track at times, because it gives ma "WTF DODGE IT, DODGE IT!!" moment.

Aside from that, I haven't run into too many problems yet... But I did my best to not get out of my comfort zone (which is below A-Class) as much, yet. I've moved on to Masters now, and I'm running out of low-class races... And I know it'll get a lot harder for me as soon as the game leaves me with nothing but S, R3 and R2. Which is managable, of course, but I dread the moment when the R1 races are popping up all over the place :nervous:

I'm having R1 races, and I'm only at the one after Semi-Pro. Maybe it's just because I like the 908.

You know...I finally had to man up near the end of my Forza 3 career. Granted, I was playing through on hard everything, full simulation...but as the end neared, I gradually turned on a couple of assists. It was aggrevating to the point of not being fun anymore doing the same race over and over. You have no idea how pissed off I would get when the AI would screw me over in the first turn..I hit start, restart. Rinse repeat. Sometimes I would be 95% done with the race, and the AI would screw me over. Start > Restart race...TENS of times for one race. I couldn't handle the stress, so I would do something like..add the brake line, or add maybe ABS.

It's not like you have to win every single race.

Yes, yes we do ;)

If you're talking about the S-Class Championship on Hockenheim that one had me breathing fire :banghead: You can get into 1rst position right on the first turn; just get into 3rd, brake late and hard, and slice the corner right up to the grass. After that don't mess up or go too slow. :) If the AI is on your tail in the final corner you're toast as he'll pass you right by for the finish (you're only chance at that point is to block him).

I bought a 2002 Enzo Ferrari. That race was so easy I mowed the grass and still won that race. So don't buy that car if you want a challenge in S class.

Meh, I stopped caring after reading some posts.
Lost a few races and realized the payouts looked about the same, exp wise at least. Credits also seemed about normal.

Well, I wasn't trying to say EVERYONE wants first place. I understand the lack of desire or need to have first. I choose first for one other reason though. I would LIKE to have all gold so I can get the Bucket List achievement.

Ah, I didn't know you were doing the event list.
I'll do that after my world tour is done. 6 years into it and my events list has only like 8 check marks in it.

Nor a Dodge Viper ACR or Lexus LF-A. In fact many of the S-Class cars are easy to out-track really.

I've wrapped up the Elite class while also delving a bit into the Rivals mode and I haven't had any real dramas so far. There was one where my tune for the Subaru Impreza 22B STi was absolutely no match for A-Class cars on a straight longer than half-a-kay...but when I won the F430 I had no problems after.

I am not doing the event list yet. I will be doing that once I am done with World Tour mode. But World Tour mode checks off your event list and counts towards all the event list golds.

I'm aware, but as I said, 6 years in, some 50 races, and only 5 events(checked last night) on the event list have check marks. So doing the races over and over to get first is not an efficient way of going after the achievement.

As mentioned above, you dont have to win the races in the world tour. When you finish the world tour you can do the event playlist and set the difficulty to anything you want. So its ok to take a loss because you can re-do that race later.

Odd, I haven't encountered the same event more than once in World Tour. They have all been unique.

All the events in the world tour are unique. I meant after you beat the world tour, you can go to the event list and see which events you did not place first in and re-do them. 👍

The event playlist is ALL the events from the world tour. Same thing as Forza 3 did.

Exactly. And that is what I am doing. But I am trying to get them all gold NOW in World Tour so that I don't have to redo them in the event list ;)

Yup fully understandable. I was working on the same thing in F3 but only ended up getting about 50% after 2 years.
I was just letting everyone know that you dont HAVE to get first place to make progress through the world tour. I have let a couple 2nd and 3rd place events slip by just so I could keep moving.

Well finished Masters and now on to Elite. Masters championship wasn't all that bad really. I think because I was familiar with the track. That may be my biggest problem with the championships. The tracks that I don't know the nuances to may be the problem and not necessarily the AI beating me to a pulp.

I'd recommend having a 2002 Turbo in your garage, in case you don't know thee track. I can't get any events for cars in D, C or B cars, and even A class is getting limited now. But, strangely, there's always an event that the 2002 can participate in.

That's pretty... You know, strange. But it works, if you want to avoid some of the higher classes. For a while, at least.

It's not exactly like Forza 3 as a World Tour race may not match a race on the events list. A few time I got the 0 credit bug and decide to redo the race on the event list only to find out that track is not on the list in that event.
