Dude, my PS2 is still frozen. I was running a GT3 GTP race for the Japan Super Stock short series race and after running a lap I didn't like I backed out of it (at super lightening speed as I do when I'm mad at my performance) and the black screen is on with the cursor... poor thing doesn't know what to do! Must've messed up the combination of buttons or something...

Well, I'd better go free it up.

Anyone have this happen to them?

I actually had GT3 lock up for the first time on me the other night (after 8 months), but buggered if I can remember what I was doing - I think I backed out of a race series and then couldn't select anything from the following menu.

Soo far the only time the game has froze on me has been when i break out of the track and do the what ever billion MPH.

I was playing one game and threw in another game. When the running game went looking for its disk and didn't find it, it just sat there. That's not really locking up though. It was just the programmer's fault for not putting error handling code in the game.

"DUDE! I'm lost here ... where's my friggen disk!?!"

Ugh - the freeze has happened only once to me with GT3, again, (if I recall correctly) getting exiting a series or something along those lines.

GTA3 is another story - that's frozen a number of times.

I haven't had a freeze happen to me either. That's like what, 2 lucky people now so far.... :p

That PC freezing problem you have, I have one word for you.... Starts with an M, ends with a T, but I ain't pointing fingers here :rotfl:

I haven't had freezes in GTA3 as such, but gone into places I haven't been able to get out of:
- examples;
- fell down between between a fence and a building on Staunton Island, no way to get out
- had to abandon car behind structure near one of the Dodos at the airport (there was some unpleasantness with the FBI). I couldn't get far enough away from the car when it blew up, which blew me INTO the structure. I was able to run around inside (the building had a full metal frame inside!) but no way to get out.

My ps2 hasn't actually frozen yet but during loading it had a glitch or something (scratched dvd i think) and it kept trying to load the part from the dvd and it was stuck there , all i did was eject the dvd and but it back in again and i just continued on playing ... no prob there

lol - ya, I've gotten stuck a few times too. Normally I just end up blowin' myself up with a grenade or something so I don't have to shut it all down. Freezing after you've completed a couple of missions was rough - if I remember correctly, it is normally when it switches from actual game play to the cutscene (or vice-versa)

No freeze here... yet. Mine's probably just waiting for that moment when I've run a blinding series or something. ;)

Voltron, I guess you're not running an Xport/Sharkport, that's why you're surprised?

Gosh, those things are still around..... I barely ever hear anything about them. I wish I had a spare system sitting around here that I could run Linux on. Now that is a hardcore system

Only times it's frozen for me was with faulty hybrids and going over a billoin MPH....

For some reason my PS2 doesn't aggree with PSX discs, it trys to puke them out, making all of these clicking and spinning noises, some sound like a turbo boosting lol...but that doesn't lock it up...
